What is happening?

North Yorkshire Council, Temporary Prohibition of Traffic, Royd Close, Cross Hills, Order 2025, No. 377

We have made this Order to prohibit any vehicle from using Royd Close, Cross Hills for a temporary period (subject to access to premises) between 27/10/25 & 14/11/25, due to Northern Gas Networks works to replace the gas main. However, the max duration of this Order is until 27/01/26. The closure period will be indicated by traffic signs & a local alternative route will be signed on site where appropriate. Temporary Prohibition of Pedestrians, Public Footpath 05.9/7/1, Burton In Lonsdale, Order 2025 No 409

We have made this Order to prohibit any pedestrian from using the Public Footpath 05.9/7/1 in the Parish of Burton in Lonsdale between grid references SD66437217 & SD65367231 for a temporary period of 6 months (subject to access to premises) between 27/10/25 & 26/04/26, due to a fallen tree on the bridge.

Derestriction Speed Limit, Grassington Road Roundabout, Skipton, Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that The North Yorkshire Council proposes to make an Order under Sections 82(2), 83(2) & 84(1) & (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 & Part IV of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, the effect of which will be to remove the 30 mph speed limit (restricted road status) imposed on the following roads in Skipton due to the presence of street lighting – the proposed Order will also revoke in its entirety the existing Derestriction Order “The Council of the County of North Yorkshire (Derestriction) (Grassington Road Roundabout) Order 1986” which relates to the Grassington Road Roundabout:-

A65 Grassington Road Roundabout, the roundabout circulatory carriageway in its entirety.

A65 Stirton Roundabout to Grassington Road Roundabout, from its junction with the Grassington Road Roundabout in a westerly direction for 147 metres.

B6265 Grassington Road, from its junction with the Grassington Road Roundabout in a northerly direction for 94 metres.

A65 Grassington Road Roundabout to Cross Bank, from its junction with the Grassington Road Roundabout in an easterly direction for 66 metres.

B6265 Grassington Road, from its junction with the Grassington Road Roundabout in a south easterly direction for 70 metres.

Raikes Road, from its junction with the Grassington Road Roundabout in a south westerly direction for 84 metres.

A copy of the draft Order, together with a map showing the roads affected & a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected at County Hall, Northallerton & at Skipton Library, High Street, Skipton BD23 1JX during normal office hours from 23/10/25 until 13/11/25 & also viewed online at www.northyorks.gov.uk/roadworks-map or www.northyorks.gov.uk/traffic-regulation-orders
