What is happening?
Highways
Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
THANET AREA
A255 Hereson Road, Ramsgate, CT11 8ER (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A255 Hereson Road, Ramsgate, on or after 3rd November 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 62, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A255 Hereson Road, A255 Ramsgate Road, Bromstone Road, Pysons Road, A254 Margate Road, A255 Boundary Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
A255 High Street, Ramsgate, CT11 0QT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A255 High Street, Ramsgate, on or after 5th November 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 8, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Grange Road, B2054 London Road, A255 Nethercourt Circus, A255 Nethercourt Hill, A255 High Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Allenby Road, Ramsgate, CT12 6TF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Allenby Road, Ramsgate, on or after 5th November 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 3, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2014 Newington Road, A254 Margate Road, Allenby Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Bairds Hill, Broadstairs, CT10 2UX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bairds Hill, Broadstairs, on or after 9th November 2025 for up to 11 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the railway bridge, between the hours of 07:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bairds Hill, Callis Court Road, Grange Road, Beacon Road, B2053 Beacon Road, B2053 Church Street, B2053 Albion Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Bairds Hill, Broadstairs, CT10 1BE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow bridge works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bairds Hill, Broadstairs, on or after 18th November 2025 for up to 8 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed 20m either side of the railway bridge, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Callis Court Road, Grange Road, Beacon Road, B2053 Church Street, B2053 Albion Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Bellevue Road, Ramsgate, CT11 8PU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bellevue Road, Ramsgate, on or after 17th November 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 20, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bellevue Road, Augusta Road, B2054 Wellington Crescent, Plains Of Waterloo and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Birds Avenue, Margate, CT9 5LS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Birds Avenue, Margate, on or after 17th November 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 12a, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Cottington Road, Minster, CT12 5JN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow bridge works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cottington Road, Minster, on or after 17th November 2025 for up to 8 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed 20m either side of the railway bridge, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cottington Road, Cottington Link, A299 Sevenscore Roundabout, A299 Hengist Way, Sandwich Road, Cliffs End Road, Foads Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Domneva Road, Westgate On Sea, CT8 8LD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Domneva Road, Westgate On Sea, on or after 9th November 2025 for up to 10 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Elm Grove and Ryders Avenue, between the hours of 07:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Domneva Road, A28 Canterbury Road, St Mildreds Road, Cuthbert Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Harbour Street, Ramsgate, CT11 9DS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Harbour Street, Ramsgate, on or after 17th November 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 17, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The one-way Order will be suspended from outside number 17 to the junction of B2054 Madeira Walk, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2054 Madeira Walk, B2054 Wellington Crescent, Plains Of Waterloo and King Street.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Plumstone Road, Acol (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Plumstone Road, Acol, on or after 19th November 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from number 3 Church Cottages to Rosemary, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Minster Road, B2190 Minster Road, A299 Mount Pleasant, A299 Canterbury Road West, A299 Monkton Roundabout, Seamark Road, Plumstone Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Queen Street, Ramsgate, CT11 9DS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Queen Street, Ramsgate, on or after 3rd November 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from outside number 44 to outside number 46, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Queen Street, West Cliff Road, B2054 Grange Road, B2054 St Augustines Road, B2054 Paragon, B2054 Royal Parade, Westcliff Arcade, Leopold Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Vale Road & Willsons Road, Ramsgate, CT11 9LY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Vale Road & Willsons Road, Ramsgate, on or after 19th November 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.
Vale Road will be closed at the junction of Willsons Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Vale Road, Crescent Road, West Cliff Road, Grange Road and vice versa.
Willsons Road will be closed at the junction of Vale Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Vale Road, Crescent Road, West Cliff Road, Grange Road, Willsons Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Victoria Avenue, Westgate On Sea, CT8 8DF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Victoria Avenue, Westgate On Sea, on or after 6th November 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 118, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Victoria Avenue, Richborough Road, Minster Road, Linden Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
