Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
MAIDSTONE AREA
A20 Ashford Road, Hollingbourne (40MPH SPEED LIMIT) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily restrict through traffic on part of A20 Ashford Road. Hollingbourne, on or after 18th November 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
A 40MPH speed limit will be imposed in the vicinity of Park Mill House, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
B2163 Upper Street, Leeds, ME17 1SH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow water asset repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2163 Upper Street, Leeds, on or after 7th November 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Churchill Cottages, between the hours of 19:30 and 06:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2163 Upper Street, B2163 Lower Street, B2163 Penfold Hill, A20 Ashford Road, Willington Street, A274 Sutton Road, A274 Maidstone Road, B2163 Leeds Road, B2163 Upper Street and vice versa.
B2246 Hermitage Lane, Maidstone, ME16 0ZQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow streetlight works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2246 Hermitage Lane, Maidstone, on or after 3rd November 2025 for up to 1 night or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the two sets of permanent traffic lights in the vicinity of Tesco Express, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via B2246 Hermitage Lane, A20 London Road, A26 Tonbridge Road, B2246 Fountain Lane and B2246 Hermitage Lane.
The alternative route for any Northbound through Traffic is via B2246 Hermitage Lane, B2246 Fountain Lane, A26 Tonbridge Road, A20 Terrace Road, A20 London Road and B2246 Hermitage Lane.
Broad Street Hill, Hucking, ME17 1QX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Broad Street Hill, Hucking, on or after 21st November 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Hucking Hill House, on weekdays only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Broad Street Hill, Church Road, Hook Lane, Rumstead Lane, Coldblow Lane, Pilgrims Way, Broad Street Hill and vice versa.
Buckland Hill, Maidstone, ME16 0SQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow for unloading of materials to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Buckland Hill, Maidstone, on or after 9th November 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of the railway bridge, between the hours of 08:00 and 20:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Church Lane, Stockbury, ME9 7RD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow fibre installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Church Lane, Stockbury, on or after 19th November 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Bull Lane to in the vicinity of Church Farm Industrial Estate. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via Church Lane, Hill Green Road, South Street Road, Bimbury Lane, A249 Sittingbourne Road, Church Hill and Church Lane.
The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Church Lane, Church Hill, A249 Sittingbourne Road, Stockbury Roundabout, A249 J5 Join S, Maidstone, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Detling Hill, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Newnham Court Roundabout, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Detling Hill, A249 Sittingbourne Road, Aerodrome Approach, Bimbury Lane, South Street Road, Hill Green Road and Church Lane.
Douglas Road, Maidstone, ME16 8ED (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow electric works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Douglas Road, Maidstone, on or after 3rd November 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 26A. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via Douglas Road, Charles Street, Reginald Road, Westree Road, A26 Tonbridge Road, Bower Place and Bower Lane.
The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via Bower Lane, Florence Road and Charles Street.
Dunn Street Road, Bredhurst, ME7 3JY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow new water service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Dunn Street Road, Bredhurst, on or after 17th November 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed. UKPN are working in conjunction with Southern Water to complete part of their works with reduced disruption on the highway.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Orchard House. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Dunn Street Road, Forge Lane, Lidsing Road, Dunn Street and vice versa.
Gleaming Wood Drive Footpath, Lordswood (PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) TEMPORARY
ORDER 2025
To allow cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit pedestrian through traffic on part of Gleaming Wood Drive Footpath, Lordswood, on or after 3rd November 2025 for up to 33 days or until the works have been completed.
The footpath will be closed from the side of property number 29 in a North direction. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any pedestrians is via Pinewood Drive, Gleaming Wood Drive and vice versa.
Hawkenbury Road, Staplehurst (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow accident repair damage to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Hawkenbury Road, Staplehurst, on or after 5th November 2025 for up to 23 days or until the works have been completed.

To allow pumping station maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of High Street, Maidstone, on or after 17th November 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 39, between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Honey Lane, Otham, on or after 3rd November 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

To allow fibre installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of South Street Road, Stockbury, on or after 12th November 2025 for up to 11 days or until the works have been completed.
South Street Road will be closed in 2 sections as follows:
Between the junction with Bimbury Lane and Yelsted Road to property called Flips Hole. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via South Street Road, Yelsted Road, Hill Green Road, South Street Road and vice versa.
The alternative route for Southbound through traffic on Plum Tree Road and Westwood Road is Hill Green Road and South Street Road.
Between the junction with West Wood Road to Steppes Hill Farm.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Westwood Road, Hill Green Road, South Street Road and vice versa.
There will be no access to South Street Road from Chalky Road.
Stede Hill, Harrietsham (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025
To allow frame and cover replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Stede Hill, Harrietsham, on or after 18th November 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Stede Court. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
