Folkestone and Hythe, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

 

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

 

FOLKESTONE & HYTHE AREA

Elvington Lane, Hawkinge, CT18 7AD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow tree cutting works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Elvington Lane, Hawkinge, on or after 5th November 2025 for up to 10 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside Dane Farm for approximately 200m in a Northerly direction, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Crete Road West, Gibraltar Lane, Elvington Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Sussex Road, Folkestone, CT19 5SJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow sewer works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sussex Road, Folkestone, on or after 17th November 2025 for up to 26 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of A2033 Foord Road and Bradstone Avenue, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via Bradstone Avenue, Devon Road and A2033 Foord Road.

The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via A2033 Foord Road, A259 Randor Park Road, A259 Pavilion Road, A259 Black Bull Road and A2033 Foord Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Varne Place, Folkestone, CT19 6BD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow sewer works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Varne Place, Folkestone, on or after 17th November 2025 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Hasborough Road and Varne Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Hasborough Road, Wear Bay Road, Varne Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Wear Bay Crescent & Segrave Road, Folkestone, CT19 6BD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Wear Bay Crescent & Segrave Road, Folkestone, on or after 17th November 2025 for up to 19 days or until the works have been completed.

Wear Bay Crescent will be closed from 17th November 2025 with estimated completion by 5th December 2025.

The closure will be at the junction of Segrave Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Wear Bay Crescent, Wear Bay Road, Hasborough Road and vice versa.

Segrave Road will be closed from 1st December 2025 with estimated completion by 5th December 2025.

The closure will be at the junction of Wear Bay Crescent, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
