What is happening?
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:
A) C261 (Part), Woodborough; from its property known as Donkey Meadow for a distance of approximately 75m in an easterly direction to enable Openreach to carry out pole replacement. Alternative route via C261 (unaffected length) – UC 115904 – UC 105802 – C38 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 21 November 2025 and the closure will be required for 1 day. B) C92 (Part), Crudwell; from its property known as Fairacre for a distance of approximately 70m in a westerly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out pipe repair works and other associated works. Alternative route via C92 (unaffected length) – A429 – C76 – C83 – C92 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 17 November 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 16:30 for 3 days. C) Bagbury Lane, Purton and Lydiard Millicent; from its junction with C28 to its junction with C414 to enable Thames Water to carry out work to install a new water connection and other associated works. Alternative route via C414 – C28 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 17 November 2025, and the closure will be required for 4 days. D) Foundry Road (Part), Malmesbury; from its junction with Shipton Hill for a distance of approximately 58m in a southerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out customer service joint shift and other associated works. Alternative route via Shipton Hill – Gloucester Road – Bristol Street – Harpers Lane – West Street (one-way) – West Street – Burnham Road – Foundry Road (unaffected length) and vice versa. E) Dursden Road (Part), Pewsey; from outside its property known as Paddock View for a distance of approximately 75m in a northerly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out customer leak repair. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 17 November 2025, and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00 for 2 days. F) B4528 (Part), Chippenham and Lacock; from its roundabout junction with Shaftesbury Drive to its property known as Showell Farm to enable TITHEGROVE LTD to carry out S278 – resurfacing of the carriageway and white lines/road. Alternative route via B4528 (unaffected length) – A350 – A4 – B4643 – B4528 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 17 November 2025, and the closure will be required the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 until 23 November 2025. This Order will come into operation on 17 November 2025, and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 until 21 November 2025. K) Summer Lane, Grittleton and Castle Combe; from its junction with C71 to its junction with C151 to enable Wessex Water to carry out washout installation works and other associated works. Alternative route via C151 – B4039 – C71 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 27 October 2025, and the closure will be required for 3 days. L) St Marys Street (Part), Malmesbury; from its junction with St Marys Lane to its junction with Gloucester Road to enable Openreach to carry out underground cabling works and other associated works. Alternative route via Gloucester Road – Bristol Street – West Street – St Marys Street (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 27 October 2025, and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 3 days. M) Stones Lane (Part), Cricklade; from its property known as Hailstone Farm for a distance of approximately 45m in a south easterly direction to enable Mundy Groundworks Limited to carry out installation of new electrical ducting and associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 27 October 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00 until 21 November 2025. Orders A) to M) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to temporarily introduce a 30mph speed restriction on the following length of road: A3102 (Part), Calne; from its roundabout junction with Stickleback Road to its roundabout junction with the Oxford Road to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out 30 mph speed restriction to accommodate carriageway reconfiguration works. The speed restrictions will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
This speed limit restriction will come into operation on 28 October 2025 and will be required until 13 February 2026. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make an Order to close temporarily to all users: Footpath 55, Purton; from its junction with Footpath 56, Purton to its junction with Footpath 53, Purton to enable development of southern section of site in accordance with planning application – PL/2021/06918. Alternative route via Footpath 53, Purton – Footpath 56, Purton and vice versa. The closures and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order will come into operation on 20 November 2025, and the closure will be required until 19 May 2026. Access will be maintained where possible although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 6 months. Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council proposes to make the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be as follows:
Order 1 – To revoke The County of Wiltshire (Various Roads, Lydiard Tregoze and Lydiard Millicent) (30mph Speed Limit) Order 2006, re-enact it in the above Order 1 and to introduce a 30mph speed limit on C414, Lydiard Millicent – from a point 20 metres north of its junction with C28 The Street and UC 078601 Greenhill Lane to a point 70 metres north of that junction.
Order 2 – To introduce a 40mph speed limit on C415 Broad Town Road, Broad Town – from a point 182 metres north of its junction with Tyning Farm Road (Cotmarsh) to a point 83 metres northwest of its junction with Broadacres.
Order 3 – To introduce a 50mph speed limit on C415 Broad Town Road/Marlborough Road – from a point 24 metres southeast of its junction to Lanes Farm, Royal Wootton Bassett to a point 182 metres north of its junction with Tyning Farm Road (Cotmarsh), Broad Town.
Order 4 – To revoke The County of Wiltshire (Various Roads, Broad Hinton) (50mph Speed Limit) Order 2014, to re-enact it in the above Order 4 and to introduce a 50mph speed limit on A4361, Broad Hinton – from a point 243 metres northeast of its junction with C121 (road leading to Uffcott) in a north easterly direction to the Wiltshire County boundary with Swindon.

Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council proposes to make the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 to amend the following restrictions in the Calne and Calne Without Consolidation Order 2021 by revoking Map Schedule No DB54 dated 14/06/2021 and replacing it by the insertion of revised Map Schedule No DB54 the effect of which is to introduce Loading only 30 mins No return within 1 hour on the west side of New Road/Curzon Street – from a point 14 metres south of its junction with Cox Hill for a distance of approximately 21 metres in a southerly direction (the layby outside of Calne Town Hall).
As part of this project the existing bus stop clearway in the layby outside of Calne Town Hall will be removed and a new bus stop clearway is proposed on the west side of New Road/Curzon Street in the layby outside of The Lansdowne Hotel, from a point 13 metres north of its junction with Cox Hill for a distance of approximately 36 metres in a northerly direction (the layby outside of The Lansdowne Hotel).
