What is happening?

TRAFFIC ORDER PROPOSALS – NO WAITING AT ANY TIME AND PRESCRIBED ROUTES FOR HEAVY GOODS VEHICLES ON GRAFTON WAY IN BASINGSTOKE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council (“the Council”) proposes to make the above-mentioned Order, in exercise of its powers and duties under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 32, 35, 45, 46, 47, 49, 51, 53 and 122 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Act, and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act and having regard to the matters set out under section 122 of the Act.

GENERAL NATURE AND EFFECTS OF THE ORDER:

Will be to introduce No Waiting at any time restrictions along Grafton Way in Basingstoke as outlined in the schedule:

Grafton WayEastBetween a point 24 metres south of its junction with the access to Unit H and a point 84 metres north thereof.
Grafton WayWestBetween a point 17 metres south of its junction with Morse Road and a point 7 metres south thereof.
And to introduce a prescribed turning route for Heavy Goods Vehicles turning into and out of Unit H by prohibiting vehicles (except those under 7.5 tonnes) from turning right into Grafton Way from the Unit H Access Road and prohibiting vehicles (Except those under 7.5 tonnes) from turning left into the Unit H Access Road.

  3. Hampshire County Council Headquarters, The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UJ (Opening hours: Mondays to Thursdays 8.30 – 5.15; Fridays 8.30 – 4.45)

All objections must state the grounds on which they are made.

Under the requirements of current access to information legislation, any statement made to the Council in response to this Notice may be made available to the press and to the public, who would be entitled to take copies of it if they so wished.

  • “The Hampshire (Basingstoke and Deane) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading and Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2021 (Variation No. 24) (Grafton Way) Order 2025.”

  • “The Hampshire (Grafton Way, Basingstoke) (Prohibition of Right and Left Turns except for vehicles under 7.5 tonnes) (Order 2025).”
