What is happening?
SECTION 14(1)(B) ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 VARIOUS ROADS, MEDWAY (COMMUNITY EVENTS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) (NO. 4) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to facilitate the construction and removal of structures required for the holding of public community events, or because of the likelihood of danger to the public whilst an event is taking place
Traffic Management - To facilitate the holding of the events mentioned in column (1) of the Table, on the dates and between the times set out in the corresponding columns (2) and (3), the traffic management provisions detailed in the Schedule identified in the corresponding column (4) will apply. These provisions will be in force as indicated in the Schedule below. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. Alternative routes for through traffic will be signed locally. Access to premises will be maintained where possible.
This order will come into force on Monday, 10 November 2025 and will cease to have effect on Monday, 22 December 2025. The order will only be effective when the appropriate signs are displayed.

Schedule RC1-4:
Intermittent road closures and Traffic restrictions
Castle Hill from its junction with Esplanade to its junction with Epaul Lane, to include Castle Hill Court – to include suspension of one-way operation to allow resident/event vehicle access. Epaul Lane from its junction with Castle Hill to its junction with Boley Hill – to include suspension of no entry and one-way operation to allow resident/event vehicle access. Boley Hill from its junction with High Street to its junction with St Margaret’s Street. The roads above will be closed intermittently throughout these dates to allow for vehicle/ plant ingress and/or egress to the Castle Gardens and Castle Moat areas.

Northgate from its junction with Corporation Street to it junction with High Street. Blue Boar Lane from its junction with Corporation Street to its junction with High Street. Schedule RC4-4: Traffic restrictions
Corporation Street (Strood bound) no vehicle is permitted to right turn into Gas House Road. Gas House Road – no vehicle is permitted to turn right into Corporation Street. Corporation Street bus lane suspended – entire length. Riverside Strood, bus/taxis gate – to include Dickensian Christmas Festival park and ride buses. Waterfront Way Bus Station – to include Dickensian Christmas Festival park and ride buses.
Former Visitor Information Centre coach set down/pick-up, Corporation Street Rochester - Suspension of existing maximum waiting period set down / pick-up 1 hour only to be replaced with authorised vehicles only.

HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 – SECTIONS 90A-F
LUTON ROAD, CHATHAM – TRAFFIC CALMING MEASURES
1. Notice is hereby given that the Council, under sections 90A-F of the Highways Act 1980 and in accordance with the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999, propose to:
(a) construct speed cushions, two abreast the carriageway with a maximum height of 75mm, width of 1.65 metres and length of 2 metres, with their centre lines at the following locations in LUTON ROAD:
(i) at a point 2.6 metres south-east of the common boundary of Nos. 15 and 17 Luton Road;
(ii) at a point 4.5 metres north-west of the common boundary of Nos. 119 and 121 Luton Road; and
(iii) at a point 1.4 metres south-east of the common boundary of Nos. 179 and 181 Luton Road; and
(b) construct flat-topped speed tables:
(i) at THE JUNCTION OF LUTON ROAD AND BANK STREET, extending in Luton Road, between a point 2.3 metres south-east of the common boundary of Nos. 49 and 51 Luton Road and a point 2 metres north-west of the common boundary of Nos. 59 and 61 Luton Road (including the ramps) and extending in Bank Street, south-westwards for a distance of 7.6 metres from the south-western kerb-line of Luton Road (including the ramp);
(ii) in LUTON ROAD, extending between a point 0.7 metres south-east of the common boundary of Nos. 81 and 83 Luton Road and a point 5 metres north-west of the common boundary of Nos. 95 and 97 Luton Road (including the ramps), under the existing pedestrian crossing at that location; and
(iii) at THE JUNCTION OF LUTON ROAD AND SHORT STREET, extending in Luton Road, between a point 0.8 metres south-east of the common boundary of Nos. 139 and 141 Luton Road and a point 1.6 metres north-west of the common boundary of Nos. 149 and 151 Luton Road (including the ramps) and extending in Short Street, south-westwards for a distance of 7.5 metres from the south-western kerb-line of Luton Road (including the ramp).
Note: The speed tables would each be an elevated section of carriageway, comprising the full width of the carriageway and of a height level with the surrounding pavement, and the ramps would each have a length of 1.5 metres. In relation to the raised table at the site of the existing pedestrian crossing (outside No. 87), associated zig-zag markings on which vehicles would be prohibited from stopping ‘at all times’ would be placed on the carriageway either side of the crossing extending 17.5 metres to the north-west and south-east.
2. Plans of the proposed measures may be inspected at Chatham Library, Dock Road, Chatham, ME4 4TX during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive (except for bank and public holidays). Alternatively, electronic copies of the documents can be requested by sending an email to TROconsult@medway.gov.uk. Electronic copies are requested on the understanding that it may take up to five working days for the request to be processed and the copies sent.
3. Any objections or other representations to the proposed measures should be sent in writing by email to TROconsult@medway.gov.uk or by post to Parking Design Team at the address specified in paragraph 2 above, by 20 October 2025, stating name, address and grounds for objection or support.

CUXTON LEVEL CROSSING (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable railway maintenance works to be carried out
Cuxton Level Crossing – Station Road Cuxton to be closed to all vehicular traffic between points 20 metres either side of Cuxton Level Crossing. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. No diversion is available. Emergency access will be maintained.
This order will come into force on Saturday, 8 November 2025 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Saturday, 8 November 2025 and are programmed for completion within 2 days. The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

CAPSTONE ROAD, CHATHAM (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) (NO. 3) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable telecoms works to be carried out
Capstone Road, Chatham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic between the junction with Elm Court Industrial Estate northwards for 500 metres to the junction with Lordswood Bridleway RC13B. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Capstone Road, Pear Tree Lane, Hempstead Road and Lidsing Road.
This order will come into force on Monday, 1 December 2025 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to take place on Monday, 1 December 2025 and are programmed for completion within 1 day (9.30am–3.30pm). The order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

NOTICE OF PROPOSAL WALNUT TREE GROVE, HOO ST WERBURGH, ROCHESTER
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Medway Council proposes to make the above-mentioned order under section 84 of, and Part III of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
The general effect of the order would be to introduce a speed limit of 20 miles per hour in Walnut Tree Grove, from the junction with Stoke Road, for its entire length once adopted into the public highway network (will exclude privately-owned sections).
Any objections or other representations to the proposed order should be sent in writing by email to TROconsult@medway.gov.uk or by post to Parking Design Team at the address specified in paragraph below by Friday, 21 November 2025, stating name, address and grounds for objection or support.

FOOTPATH RS94, STOKE ROAD, HOO (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on pedestrians to enable construction of new development to be carried out
Footpath RS94, Stoke Road, Hoo - to be closed between Stoke Road and the field south of Stoke Road reconnecting to the existing footpath. This is for the safety of the public to enable the construction of new a development to be carried out.
The closure will be in place from 1 November 2025 until 1 June 2027, or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The maximum duration of this order is six months, after which application will be made to the Secretary of State for the order to be extended.
An alternative route for pedestrians will be provided along Stoke Road and adjoining field path as shown on site.
