What is happening?

PROPOSED PARKING AND LOADING BAYS AND AMENDMENT TO WAITING RESTRICTIONS, SULTAN ROAD AND TORONTO ROAD


1. Notice is hereby given that the Portsmouth City Council proposes to make the following Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984: The Portsmouth City Council (Sultan Road and Toronto Road) (Parking Places, Loading Bays and Waiting Restrictions) Order 2025. The effect of the Order would be:
a. To introduce "No Waiting at Any Time" restrictions on Toronto Road at the following location:
i. South side, introduce new waiting restriction from a point 15 metres east of its junction with Kingston Road for a distance of 4 metres in an easterly direction
b. To introduce "no waiting 8am-6pm, Monday to Saturday" restriction on Toronto Road at the following locations:
i. North side, from a point 7 metres east of its junction with Kingston Road (in place of "No Waiting at Any Time") for a distance of 9 metres in an easterly direction
c. To introduce a loading only bay operating at all times at the following locations:
i. Toronto Road, north side from a point 16 metres east of its junction with Kingston Road for a distance of 8 metres in an easterly direction(in place of "no waiting 8am-6pm, Monday to Saturday" restriction),
ii. Sultan Road, north side, from a point 7 metres west of its junction with Kingston Road for a distance of 14 metes in a westerly direction
d. To introduce "parking limited to 1 hour, no return within 1 hour, 8am-6pm", Monday to Saturday at the following locations:
i. Toronto Road, south side from a point 10 metres east of its junction with Kingston Road (in place of "no waiting at any time"), for a distance of 5 metres in an easterly direction
ii. Sultan Road, south side from a point 7 metres west of its junction with Kingston Road for a distance of 15 metres in a westerly direction (in place of "parking limited to 30 minutes, no return within 1 hour, 8am-6pm")
2. Copies of the draft Order, Statement of Reasons and Map are available to view on Portsmouth City Council’s website: Search 'Traffic Regulation Orders 2025" at

www.portsmouth.gov.uk.

Alternatively, they can be viewed at the Civic Offices, Guildhall Square, PO1 2AL, Monday to Friday between 9am - 4pm. Printed copies can be obtained by calling 023 9260 6480.
Persons wishing to object to or make other representations with regard to these proposals must do so in writing, stating the grounds on which they are made. Representations must be sent to

or by post to TRO team, Portsmouth City Council, Civic Offices, Portsmouth PO1 2NE, quoting ref P025-25 within 21 days of the date of this Notice (i.e. by 17 November 2025)
