Braintree – Amendment to On-Street Parking Places Order (Payment Parking)

What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Braintree District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) (Amendment No.49) Order 202x

Notice is hereby given Colchester City Council acting on behalf of the North Essex Parking Partnership in exercise of the delegated powers of the traffic authority Essex County Council granted under an Agreement dated 1st July 2022 proposes to make the above Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4 (1), 4(2), 32, 35,45,46,49 and 53 and Parts III and IV of schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of the Order:

    1. To revoke Limited Waiting Mon-Sat 8am-6pm 1 hour no return within 3 hours and replace with Payment Parking Place Mon-Sat 8am-6pm max stay 2 hours no return within 2 hours in Bocking End & The Causeway, Braintree (Pay by phone or payment machine charges first hour free and additional hour £2.80).

    2. To revoke Limited Waiting Mon-Sat 8am-6pm 1 hour no return within 2 hours and replace with Payment Parking Place Mon-Sat 8am-6pm max stay 2 hours no return within 2 hours in The Centre, Halstead (Pay by phone or payment machine charges first hour free and additional hour £2.00)

    3. To revoke Limited Waiting Mon-Sat 8am-6pm 1 hour no return within 3 hours and replace with Payment Parking Place Mon-Sat 8am-6pm max stay 2 hours no return within 2 hours in High Street, Halstead, southeast side (Pay by phone or payment machine charges first hour free and additional hour £2.00).

    4. To revoke Limited Waiting Mon-Thurs & Sat 8am-6pm 1 hour no return within 3 hours and replace with Payment Parking Place Mon-Thurs & Sat 8am-6pm max stay 2 hours no return within 2 hours in High Street, Halstead, northwest side (Pay by phone or payment machine charges first hour free and additional hour £2.00).

    5. To revoke Limited Waiting Mon-Sat 8am-6pm 1 hour no return within 3 hours and replace with Payment Parking Place Mon-Sat 8am-6pm max stay 2 hours no return within 2 hours) in Newland Street, between numbers 2 & 121 Newland Street, Witham (Pay by phone or payment machine charges first hour free and additional hour £2.80).

    6. To amend Schedule 7 in The Essex County Council (Braintree District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019 to append the items set out in Schedule 1 of this Order.

    This Order will be incorporated into The Essex County Council (Braintree District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019 by replacing tile numbers TL755 235, TL820 145, TL815 142 revision 0 with revision 1, TL820 147, TL755 232 & TL820 142 revision 1 with revision 2 and TL810 305 revision 2 with revision 3.

    (Bradford Street, Braintree and Bocking)

    (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Bradford Street, Braintree and Bocking in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Courtauld Road to its junction with Church Lane a distance of approximately 570m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 19th November 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2387115 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway repair works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

    An alternative route is available via Broad Road, Convent Hill, Broad Road Roundabout, Braintree Bypass – A131, Marks Roundabout, A120 J A131/B1256 Roundabout, Coggeshall Road, Coggeshall Road Roundabout, Coggeshall Road – Railway Street Junction, Courtauld Road and vice versa.

    The Order will come into effect on 30th October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

    (Fuller Street, Fairstead & Braintree Road, Terling)

    (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Fuller Street, Fairstead & Braintree Road, Terling in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Parkgate Road to its junction with Fairstead Hall Road and Springfield Lodge Road in the case of Braintree Hall Road a distance of approximately 1350m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 20th November 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2388688 & EP201EH2388697 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway repair works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

    An alternative route is available via Fairstead Lodge Road, Ranks Green Road, Fairstead Road, Fairstead Hall Road and vice versa.

    The Order will come into effect on 30th October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

    (Star Lane, Great Dunmow)

    (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Star Lane, Great Dunmow in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with The Downs for a distance of approximately 35m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th November 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410284467RC – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while valve and hydrant installation works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

    An alternative route is available via The Downs, Star Lane and vice versa.

    The Order will come into effect on 30th October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

    (Bakers Road, Belchamp St. Paul)

    (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Bakers Road, Belchamp St. Paul in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 190m east of its junction with Knowl Green Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 4th November 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD01310796847 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

    An alternative route is available via Cole Green, Gages Road, Knowl Green, Knowl Green Road and vice versa (with access only into Bakers Road).

    The Order came into effect on 16th October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

    (Broadway & Francis Way, Silver End)

    (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order:

      1. To temporarily close that length of Francis Way, Silver End in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Broadway for a distance of approximately 25m in a south westerly direction.

      2. To temporarily close that length of Broadway, Silver End in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Temple Lane for a distance of approximately 105m in a north westerly direction.

      The closures are scheduled to commence on 3rd November 2025 (16:00–23:00) for 3 days/nights, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03764081020 & AD03764081020/2 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while sewer lining works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

      An alternative route is available via Francis Way, Silver Street, Boars Tye Road, Temple Lane and vice versa. (with access only into Broadway).

      The Order came into effect on 16th October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

      (Brook Street, Colne Engaine)

      (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

      Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

      Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Brook Street, Colne Engaine in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Shellcroft for a distance of approximately 30m in an easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th November 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD01310772318 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while New connection works are undertaken by Anglian Water. An alternative route is available via Brook Street, Halstead Road, Brook Street, A131, A1124, Station Road and vice versa. The Order came into effect on 16th October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

      (Carters Hill, Toppesfield)

      (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

      Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

      Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Carters Hill, Toppesfield in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 10m north west of its junction with Lewseys Farm Road for a distance of approximately 300m in a north westerly direction.

      The closure is scheduled to commence on 3rd November 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30055153646 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while tree trimming works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

      An alternative route is available via Carters Hill, Toppesfield Road, Bar Hall Road, Morris Green Road, Wethersfield Road, Almshouse Green, Wethersfield Road, Prayors Hill, Rectory Road, A1017, Toppesfield Road, Great Yeldham Road, Gainsford End Road, Carters Hill and vice versa.

      The Order came into effect on 16th October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

      (Carters Hill, Toppesfield & Toppesfield Road, Sible Hedingham)

      (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

      Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

      Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Carters Hill, Toppesfield & Toppesfield Road, Sible Hedingham in the District of Braintree, from the junction of Delvin End to the junction of Gainsford End Road a distance of approximately 1355m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 30th October 2025 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2390951 & EP201EH2390951A – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council. An alternative route is available via Delvin End, Graves Hall Road, A1017, Toppesfield Road, Great Yeldham Road, Gainsford End Road and vice versa.

      The Order came into effect on 16th October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

      (Cross Farm Road, Finchingfield)

      (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

      Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

      Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Cross Farm Road, Finchingfield in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Pump Lane for a distance of approximately 310m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 3rd November 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (KA140RFSI2209743-RC – Gigaclear). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while blockage clearance works are undertaken by Gigaclear.

      An alternative route is available via Cross Farm Road, Walthams Cross, Cross Hill, Willows Road, Pump Lane and vice versa.

      The Order came into effect on 16th October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

      (Ulting Road, Hatfield Peverel)

      (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

      Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

      Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Ulting Road, Hatfield Peverel in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Link Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 2nd November 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (AD01310784839 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

      An alternative route is available via: A414, B1018, B1019 and vice versa.

      The Order came into effect on 16th October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
