Maldon - Temporary Road Closures due to Drainage and Gas Main Works
What is happening?

(Maldon Road, Latchingdon)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Maldon Road, Latchingdon in the District of Maldon, from its junction with Thatchers Croft for a distance of approximately 220m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 17th November 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2395085 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while drainage jetting works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Maldon Road, Burnham Road, Fambridge Road, Cold Norton Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 30th October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Broad Street Green Road, Heybridge/Great Totham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Broad Street Green Road, Heybridge/Great Totham in the District of Maldon, from the junction of Wood Road to the junction of Bluebell Avenue a distance of approximately 605m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 3rd November 2025 for 40 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ5011001438497 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while gas main upgrade works are undertaken by Cadent.
An alternative route is available via B1022, B1023, B1026, B1022 and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 16th October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
