What is happening?

(PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND LOADING/UNLOADING) ORDER 2010
(AMENDMENT NO.1) ORDER 2025
The Council on 24/10/2025 made an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32 and 35 and part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), as amended, the effect of which comes into operation on 5/11/2025 and will bring into force the following restrictions, ‘No Waiting At Any Time’ restrictions on:
a. Shaftesbury Road, on both sides from its junction with Kipling Avenue for a distance of 4.8 metres in a south-easterly direction.
b. Shaftesbury Road, on both sides from its junction with Kipling Avenue for a distance of 4.8 metres in a north-westerly direction.
c. Kipling Avenue, on both sides from its junction with Shaftesbury Road for a distance of 4.7 metres in a south-westerly direction.
d. Kipling Avenue, on both sides from its junction with Shaftesbury Road for a distance of 4.8 metres in a north-easterly direction.
e. Shaftesbury Road, on both sides from its junction with Milton Avenue (Back) for a distance of 6.6 metres in a south-easterly direction.
f. Shaftesbury Road, on both sides from its junction with Milton Avenue (Back) for a distance of 5.2 metres in a north-westerly direction.
g. Milton Avenue (Back), on both sides from its junction with Shaftesbury Road for a distance of 4.8 metres in a south-westerly direction.
h. Milton Avenue (Back), on both sides from its junction with Shaftesbury Road for a distance of 4.8 metres in a north-easterly direction.
i. Shaftesbury Road, on both sides from its junction with Shakespeare Avenue (Back) for a distance of 5.7 metres in a south-easterly direction.
j. Shaftesbury Road, on both sides from its junction with Shakespeare Avenue (Back) for a distance of 5.7 metres in a north-westerly direction.
k. Shakespeare Avenue (Back), on both sides from its junction with Shaftesbury Road for a distance of 5.2 metres in a south-westerly direction.
l. Shakespeare Avenue (Back), on both sides from its junction with Shaftesbury Road for a distance of 4.5 metres in a north-easterly direction.
m. Shaftesbury Road, on the northeastern side from its junction with Tennyson Avenue (Back) for a distance of 4.7 metres in a south-easterly direction.
n. Shaftesbury Road, on the southwestern side from its junction with Tennyson Avenue (Back) for a distance of 4.0 metres in a north-easterly direction.
q. Tennyson Avenue (Back), on both sides from its junction with Shaftesbury Road for a distance of 4.5 metres in a south-westerly direction.
‘No Waiting and No Loading/Unloading At Any Time’ restrictions on:
a. A1086 Coast Road, on the southwestern side from a point 5.9 metres northwest of its junction with Hart Crescent in a north-westerly direction for a distance of 4.5 metres.
b. A1086 Coast Road on the southwestern side from a point 8.1 metres southeast of its junction with Hart Crescent in a south-easterly direction for a distance of 4.5 metres.
A copy of the Order and supporting documents can be seen via the Council website, and at Blackhall Library during normal opening hours.
Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by “the Act”, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks from 24/10/2025.
