A12 Layby near Wickham Market – Restricting Access for Authorised Vehicles Only
What is happening?

APPLICATION FOR: Restricting access to an existing Layby on the A12 Suffolk
Notice is hereby given that SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL, Endeavour House, 8 Russell Rd, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP1 2BX has applied under sections 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, to:
Limit access to the Layby, referred to as on the A12 outside of Wickham Market, on the northern side of the carriageway, in a northbound direction, at a distance of 360 metres from the A12 junction signed “Hacheston” and “Campsea Ashe”. The limited access is to allow Authorised Vehicles Only. Authorised Vehicles will consist of Emergency Vehicles (including Police, Fire and medical vehicles) and Abnormal Indivisible Load (AIL) vehicles who are carrying out activities in relation to the construction of Sizewell C.

Representations in respect of the application should ordinarily be made by:
Emailing info@sizewellc.com noting the scheme that you are responding to in the subject bar and clearly stating whether you were objecting or not to the proposal.
However, we will also accept representations via:By letter addressed to TRO Responses, Free Post SZC. Again, stating which scheme the message is related to and clearly stating whether you object or do not object.
In all cases, correspondence must:
Be received within 6 months of the date of the first notice (September 2025)
Quote the case reference; and
Include an address to which correspondence relating to the representation or objection may be sent.
Please note that whilst we will be using the Sizewell Information Office and Sizewell C web address as the hub for processing these responses, any response details and personal information will be shared with the lead consultation organisation, WSP. If you object to your personal data being shared with WSP, please refrain from including this on the response.
