East Cambridgeshire - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Maintenance and Utility Works

NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council intends after 7 days, to make an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which:

Barway Road, Soham Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic Order 2025-1712

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Barway Rd, Soham as lies between No.1 & Walnut Tree Cottage. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway maintenance & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 6/11/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 5/5/27 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 6/11 & 7/11/25.

High Street & Swaffham Road, Burwell Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic Order 2025-1716

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along High St & Swaffham Rd, Burwell as lies between No.25 & The Old Barn. The alternative route for vehicles is via B1102; A1303; A1304; A142 & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway maintenance & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 6/11/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 5/5/27 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out on 6/11/25.

Isaacson Road, Burwell Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic Order 2025-1718

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Isaacson Rd, Burwell as lies between B1102 & B1103. The alternative route for vehicles is via B1102; B1103 & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway maintenance & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 6/11/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 5/5/27 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out on 6/11/25.

High Street, Sutton Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2025-1896

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along High Street, Sutton as lies between Church Lane & Oates Lane. The alternative route for vehicles is via High St; B1381; Church Ln & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate water meter exchange & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 13/11/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 12/5/27 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 19:00hrs 13/11 & 06:00hrs 14/11/25.

Pymoor Siding, Pymoor Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2025-1901

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Pymoor Siding, Pymoor as lies between points 20m either side of the railway level crossing situated there as measured from its gates or barriers. The alternative route for vehicles is via Pymoor Siding; Short Drove, Little Downham; Main Drove; Downham Common; O Furlong Drove; Pymoor Ln; B1411 & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 4/11/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 3/5/27 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 22:00hrs 4/11 & 06:00hrs 5/11/25.

West Fen Road, Ely Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic Order 25-2006

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along West Fen Rd, Ely as lies between Hurst Ln & Oak Farm. The alternative route for vehicles is via West Fen Rd, Witchford; West Fen, Coveney; Green Drove; School Ln; Main St, Park Cl, Long Ln, Wentworth Rd, Long Causeway, Long Causeway, Witcham, A142; A10 & vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate water connection & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 10/11/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 9/5/27 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 10/11 & 12/11/25.

Weirs Drove, Burwell Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2025-2015

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Weirs Drove, Burwell as lies between The Orchard & Welsumme Farm. The alternative route for vehicles is via Weirs Drove; Reach Rd; B1102; The Causeway C221; Hythe Ln & vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate water meter maintenance & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 17/11/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 16/5/27 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 08:00hrs and 17:00hrs 17 November 2025.

East Road, Isleham Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2025-2037

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along East Road, Isleham as lies between The Causeway & Bowers Lane. The alternative route for vehicles is via East Rd; Sun St; The Causeway & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate electrical connection & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 3/11/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 2/5/27 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 3/11 & 5/11/25.

Orchard Row, Soham Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic Order 2025-2045

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Orchard Row, Soham as lies between Nos.15 & 34. The alternative route for vehicles is via Road Between Orchard Row & Wicken Rd C143; A1123 & vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate new electrical connection & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 10/11/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 9/5/27 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 10/11 & 14/11/25.

Downham Byway 43, Little Downham Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2025-2048

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Downham Byway 43, Little Downham as lies between points 20m either side of the railway level crossing situated there as measured from its gates or barriers. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 15/11/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 14/5/26 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 23:00hrs 15/11 & 08:30hrs 16/11/25.

Station Road B1102, Fordham Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic – Order 2025-2051

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Station Road B1102, Fordham as lies between points 20m either side of the railway level crossing situated there as measured from its gates or barriers. The alternative route for vehicles is via B1102; A142; Windmill Hill C751, Exning; B1103; B1102 & vice versa.

The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 7/11/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 6/5/27 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 21:00hrs 7/11 & 10:30hrs 8/11/25.

Witchford Road A142, Ely Temporary 40mph Speed Limit & Temporary No Left Turn – Order 2025-2054

Is to impose a 40mph speed limit along Witchford Road A142, Ely as lies between Paradise Farm & Witchford Road Roundabout & the effect of which is to stop any vehicle from turning left from Witchford Road A142, Ely into the services. The Order will be effective, for safety purposes, when signs are in place indicating the speed limit along the whole or any part of the above mentioned length of road whilst works are in progress or temporarily suspended. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate new water connection and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 13/11/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 12/5/27 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 13/11 & 14/11/25.

Headleys Lane, Witcham Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic Order 2025-2066

Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Headleys Ln, Witcham as lies between Back Ln & Market Way. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate gully investigation & associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway & it will come into operation on 10/11/25 & continue until these works have finished or on the 9/5/27 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 10/11 & 12/11/25.

Access will be maintained to properties affected by these orders. The above orders shall not apply to any persons lawfully engaged in connection with any works for which these are made, any member of the Police Force, Fire & Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or to any person acting with the permission or upon the direction of a Police Officer in uniform.
