ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

THE A12 GLA ROAD (EASTERN AVENUE, LONDON BOROUGH OF REDBRIDGE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

  1. Transport for London having consulted the London Borough of Redbridge hereby gives notice that it has made the above named Traffic Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purpose specified in paragraph 2. The effect of the Order is summarised in paragraph 3.

  2. The purpose of the Order is to enable cable infrastructure upgrade works to take place at A12 Eastern Avenue.

  3. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from:

    (1) entering, exiting or proceeding on the southern arm of Beehive Lane between its junctions with Eastern Avenue and Castleview Gardens;

    (2) entering, exiting or proceeding on the northern arm of Beehive Lane between its junctions with Eastern Avenue and Ethelbert Gardens;

    (3) turning right from Eastern Avenue into the southern arm of Beehive Lane;

    (4) turning right from Eastern Avenue into the northern arm of Beehive Lane;

    (5) turning right from the southern arm of Beehive Lane into Eastern Avenue;

    (6) turning right from the northern arm of Beehive Lane into Eastern Avenue;

    (7) proceeding from the southern arm of Beehive Lane at its junction with Eastern Avenue into the northern arm of Beehive Lane;

    (8) proceeding from the northern arm of Beehive Lane at its junction with Eastern Avenue into the southern arm of Beehive Lane.

The Order will be effective at certain times between 7:00 AM on 25th October 2025 and 11:59 PM on 2nd November 2025 or when the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. The prohibition will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

  1. The prohibitions will not apply in respect of:

    (1) any vehicle being used for the purposes of those works or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes;

    (2) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a person authorised by Transport for London.

  2. At such times as the prohibition is in force an alternative route will be indicated by traffic signs via: Eastern Avenue, Redbridge Roundabout, Eastern Avenue, Green Man Interchange, New Wanstead, Hermon Hill, Chigwell Road, Charlie Browns Roundabout Southend Road and Woodford Avenue to normal route of travel;

    (for northern arm closure of Beehive Lane) Beehive Lane, roundabout at junctions with Woodford Avenue, Redbridge Lane East and Longwood Gardens, Wood ford Avenue and Eastern Avenue to normal route of travel;

    (for southern arm closure of Beehive Lane) Eastern Avenue, Gants Hill roundabout and Cranbrook Road to normal route of travel and in reverse; Eastern Avenue, Redbridge Roundabout, North Circular Road, unnamed off-slip road connecting to Romford Road, Ilford Hill and Cranbrook Road to normal route of travel.
