Hertfordshire - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Utility and Infrastructure Works

What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE MEADWAY, CUFFLEY) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of The Meadway, Cuffley from a point 473m north west of its junction with B156 Station Road north westwards for its entire length ("the Road").

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in that road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The purpose of the Order is to enable the installation of new foul run into an existing manhole is proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 10 November 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN LONDON ROAD, WELWYN) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using that length of London Road, Welwyn from its junction with Prospect Place south eastwards to its junction with Roman Road, a distance of approximately 193m ("the Road"), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Prospect Place, Herford Road, A1000 Welwyn Bypass Road, B197 London Road and vice versa.

ADDITIONAL WORKS are also prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of that length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because water works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order is made, it shall come into force on 27 October 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HARMER GREEN LANE, DIGSWELL) ORDER NO.3 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Harmer Green Lane, Digswell from its junction with New Road north westwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 900m ("the Road").

An alternative route will be via New Road and Harmer Green Lane.

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing gas main is proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 27 October 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN THE ROAD LEADING TO NOS.181-195 HIGH STREET AND CHURCH LANE, KIMPTON) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1. the road leading to Nos.181-195 High Street, Kimpton from its junction with B652 High Street south eastwards for its entire length.

2. that length of Church Lane, Kimpton from its junction with B652 High Street north westwards, north eastwards and north westwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 27 October 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF COLLEGE LANE, HATFIELD) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of College Lane, Hatfield from its junction with Roe Green Close south westwards to its junction with Roehyde Way, a distance of approximately 564m ("the Road"), except for access.

An alternative route will be via College Lane, Bishops Rise and A1001 South Way/ Roehyde Way).

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 26 October 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
