What is happening?

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM

(GORDON ROAD, BARKING)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE OF INTENT

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate the reinstatement of a kerb outside Vasant House, the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham intends to make a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The order is expected to come in to effect on Monday 3 November 2025. The works expected for:

• The reinstatement of a kerb outside Vasant House, to take 5 days to complete. Completion date estimated as Friday 7 November 2025 with the work expected to be undertaken between the hours of 8.00am to 6.30pm.

However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.

3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed the Order will temporarily: -

• Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Gordon Road, both sides, from its junction with Movers Lane for a distance of 24.5 metres in a north-easterly direction.

• Prohibit all vehicular traffic (Except for access) on Gordon Road, both sides, from its junction with Sparsholt Road to a point 24.5 metres north-east of its junction with Movers Lane.

• Prohibit all vehicles from turning right from Movers Lane into Gordon Road.

• Prohibit all vehicles from turning left from Movers Lane into Gordon Road.

4. Alternative routes for Vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:

• Via Movers Lane, Howard Road, Jackson Road, Perth Road, Movers Lane, Kennedy Road, Sparsholt Road and Gordon Road.

• Via Gordon Road, Sparsholt Road, Kennedy Road and Movers Lane.
