MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
What is happening?
Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the
following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC146207049: The City of Manchester
(Withington Footway Resurfacing 2, Withington Ward)
(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025
under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The
effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Birchacre
Grove, Bowers Street, Cedar Grove, Egerton Terrace,
Gainsborough Avenue, Lyth Street, Meredith Street, Mitford
Road, Thorn Grove and Weld Road. The alternative routes
for traffic will be: Signed locally. The City Council is satisfied
that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate
footway resurfacing works. It is expected that the works
will be in progress from the 12th November 2025 to the
24th November 2025. The order shall come into operation
on the 12th November 2025 and may remain in force for
a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary
works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall
cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin
