Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Abingdon, St Helens Wharf

Prohibition of Through Traffic

Date of Order: 20 October 2025

Coming into force: 27 October 2025

This Order is being introduced because of gas mains replacement works which are anticipated to be completed 21 November 2025. This is a 24 hour daily road closure. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the length of St Helens Wharf from junction of Wilsham Road to outside No.4. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via Caldecott Road – Drayton Road – Oct Street – Stratton Way – Stert Street – East St Helen Street – West St Helen Street.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T16429/AC)

Closure commenced: 6 October 2025

Date of Order: 13 October 2025

Coming into force: 26 October 2025

This Order continues in force a closure by Notice introduced for installation of 110 metres of new water supply pipe which is anticipated to be completed 30 November 2025. This is a 24 hour daily road closure.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the whole length of road through Wytham from the A420 to outside house No.22. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via Godstow Road, Woodstock Road, A34 Western Bypass Road, Botley Interchange.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T16820/AC)
