THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (HOLLINS LANE, MARPLE BRIDGE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) NOTICE 2025
What is happening?
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Prohibition of Driving at Hollins Lane, Marple Bridge from the junction of Footpath 83 Marple to the junction of Ley Lane, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road. This Order is necessary to allow for vegetation management works to take place. It is estimated these works will last 1 day and are expected to take place between 9.00am to 15:30pm. A diversion will be provided via Ley Lane, Glossop Road, Lower Fold, Town Street, Hollins Lane, and vice versa. This Notice does not apply to any vehicle on any occasion when it is being used for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes. This Notice does not apply to pedestrians. This Order is to come into operation on 20 November 2025 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
