What is happening?

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which is to introduce a Temporary Prohibition of Driving at Winnington Road, Marple. Whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road. This Order is necessary to facilitate sewer connection for development. It is anticipated that the maximum duration of the work will be five days. Pedestrian access will be maintained. Alternative routes will be provided via: Bradshaw Road, Ley hey Road, Station Road & vice versa. This Order came into operation on the 27th of October 2025 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
