(Speed limit Restrictions, North Somerset) Consolidation Order 2024

(Variation No.5) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council propose to make an order in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The general effect of the order shall be to amend the North Somerset Council (Speed Limit Restrictions, North Somerset Consolidation) Order 2024 to extend the existing 30 mph speed limit and introduce a new 40 mph speed limit within Long Ashton. The extent of the proposals are described in the Schedule to this Notice. Full details of the proposals are contained in the draft Order which, together with the plan, Statement of the Council’s Reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected at Long Ashton Community Centre, 5 Keedwell Hill, Long Ashton BS41 9DP (during normal opening hours) or online https://n-somerset.gov.uk/my-services/parking-travel-roads/roads-streets/comment-traffic-regulation-orders-tros

Schedule – Speed Limit Restrictions – Wild Country Lane, Long Ashton, extend existing 30mph speed limit (plan reference 1). Wild Country Lane, Long Ashton, new 40mph speed limit (plan reference 1).

Construction of Road Hump, Wild Country Lane, Long Ashton

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in exercise of the powers conferred by section 90A of the Highways Act 1980 (hereinafter called ‘the Act’) and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with section 90C (1) of the Act and those bodies or persons prescribed by the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999 (hereinafter called ‘the Regulations’) and in accordance with section 90C (2) of the Act intends to construct a raised table at the locations specified in the Schedule to this notice.

(1) Flat Top Road Hump referred to in Schedule 1 will extend across the whole width of the carriageway and will be 75mm in height and 10m in length, subject to tolerances in the Regulations.

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 - Section 14

Notice of Temporary Traffic Regulation Order

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:

Walton Street, Down Road, Walton-in-Gordano, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles and Cyclists

Date coming into force: 1 December 2025

Ref: T25-59

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles and cyclists the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

This order is required because of pre-surface dressing patching and will become operative on 1 December 2025, anticipated to be of 5 working days. The maximum period for the closures is eighteen months, however, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works.

Schedule - Walton Street, Walton-in-Gordano for full extents B3124 to Charlcombe Rise. Down Road – Charlcombe Rise to Valley Road junction (including the junction).

Alternative routes - Walton Street and Down Road - B3214 Clevedon Road, Valley Road and vice-versa

Union Street, Nailsea, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026

Date coming into Force: 20 January 2026

Ref: SW25.26-187

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wessex Water for Section 81 repair. This order will become operative on the 20 January 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 1 day in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 - Section 14

Final Notice of Temporary Traffic Regulation Order

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, has made the order, the effect of which:

Old Street and Chapel Hill, Clevedon, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles and Cyclists

Date coming into force: 27 October 2025

Ref: T25-49

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles and cyclists the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

This order was required because of highway drainage maintenance works and will become operative on 27 October 2025, anticipated to be of 5 working days. The closure will be 24 hours in operation. The maximum period for the closures is eighteen months, however, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works.

Schedule – Old Street and Chapel Hill, Clevedon from the junction with Marson Road to the junction with Parnell Road.

Alternative routes – Old Street, Clevedon – Old Street, Tickenham Road, Northern Way, Ettlingen Way Roundabout, Moor Lane, Kenn Road Roundabout, Great Western Road, The Triangle and vice-versa. Chapel Hill, Clevedon – Chapel Hill, Lower Linden Road, Linden Road, Elton Road, Old Church Road, Great Western Road, Kenn Road, The Triangle and vice-versa.

Severn Road, Pill, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2025

Date coming Into Force: 4 November 2025

Ref: SW25.26-132

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by National Grid for decayed pole change and erect new pole and reconductoring contractor. This order will become operative on the 4 November 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 2 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Brook Gate, Long Ashton, North Somerset

Temporary One-Way Restriction Order 2025

Date coming Into Force: 3 November 2025

Ref: SW25.26-168

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Bristol Water for connection to existing water main and lay approx. 137m of main. This order will become operative on the 3 November 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 47 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Schedule – Brook Gate – traffic will be restricted from proceeding Westbound from outside 13 Brook Gate to junction with Colliters Way.
