What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U2240 GROSE ROAD, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U2240 Grose Road, Ipswich from no. 14 for 30 metres eastbound to facilitate a stop tap replacement. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Nacton Crescent, Nacton Road, Rands Way and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 22/10/2025 - 23/10/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C704 BRETTENHAM ROAD, BUXHALL

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C704 Brettenham Road, Buxhall from Leffey Barn for 30 metres north eastbound to facilitate a new water connection. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Purple Hill, Buxhall Road, the B1115, Brettenham Road Hitcham and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 22/10/2025 - 24/10/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C486 MILL LANE, CREETING ST PETER

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C486 Mill Lane, Creeting St Peter from Access Road from C486 to Hill Farm on Flint Hall to facilitate telecommunications works to replace and reinstall telegraph poles. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Gateway Boulevard, the A1120, the A14, the A140, Kettle Lane, the B1078 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 22/10/2025 - 24/10/2025 from 9.30am - 3.30pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE B1076 NORTHGATE STREET, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the B1076 Northgate Street, Ipswich from Carr Street to Great Coleman Street to facilitate a gas service disconnection. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Tacket Street, Bond Street, St Helens Street, Old Foundry Road, Great Coleman Street and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 31/10/2025 from 7pm - 11.59pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C693 NEW ROAD, ROUGHAM

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C693 New Road, Rougham from Kingshall Street to Church Road to facilitate carriageway resurfacing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Kingshall Street, Moat Lane, Almshouse Road, Church Road, New Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 21/10/2025 - 23/10/2025 from 8am - 5pm.

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND NO RIGHT TURN ON

PART OF THE U8030 OLD HALL LANE, COCKFIELD

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U8030 Old Hall Lane, Cockfield from the junction with Bury Road for 10 metres eastbound to facilitate the installation of a fibre network. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the A1141, Howe Lane, Chapel Road, Great Green, Bradfield Road, Bury Road, Ixer Lane, the A134, the A1141 and no vice versa.

For the duration of this closure there will also be a no right turn provision on the U8030 Old Hall Lane onto the A1141 Cross Green.

It is intended that these measures will operate from 31/10/2025 - 10/11/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C713 TEN TREE ROAD, GREAT WALDINGFIELD

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C713 Ten Tree Road, Great Waldingfield from Heathfield to Homeleigh to facilitate works to an overhead structure, to provide customer service. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Ten Tree Road, Waldingfield Road, the B1115 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 31/10/2025 from 9.30am - 3.30pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY 30MPH SPEED RESTRICTION ON PART OF THE A137 IPSWICH ROAD, WHERSTEAD

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order for a temporary 30mph speed restriction on the A137 Ipswich Road, Wherstead from 100 metres north of The Street for 400 metres southbound to facilitate assisting with heavy plant crossing and signage on the highway.

Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

It is intended that this measure will operate from 31/10/2025 - 26/06/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (DISTRICT OF ST EDMUNDSBURY) (STOPPING, WAITING

AND LOADING PROHIBITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS AND ON-STREET PARKING PLACES)

(MAP-BASED) ORDER 2019 (PARISH OF HAVERHILL (GREENFIELDS WAY) (U6810)

(PROHIBITION OF WAITING) (VARIATION NO.12) ORDER 2025

On 15/10/2025 Suffolk County Council made the above order under Sections 1(1) and (2), 2(1) to (3), 4(2) and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which would substitute revision 1 of Map Tiles GJ25 and GJ26 in place of revision 0 of the same Map Tiles, into the above-named 2019 order. The effect of this would

be to introduce:

‘No waiting at any time’ on:

• The south side of Greenfields Way (U6810), Haverhill, from a point 11m East of centre of Cleves Road(U6810)/Greenfields Way roundabout to a point 70m east of the centre of the entrance to Clements Primary Academy for a total distance of 131m.

Exemptions to the waiting restrictions allow a vehicle to wait for so long as is necessary to board or alight or to load and unload for building, industrial or demolition works; for emergency services; for the maintenance of the road or its services; and for fulfilling statutory duties. There are the usual exemptions for Blue Badge holders.

A copy of the order, which comes into effect on 28/10/2025, may be seen with advance notice, may be seen with advance notice at the address below, 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday; also at Haverhill Library, Camps Road, Haverhill CB9 8HB, Monday - 9am - 1pm, Tuesday 9am - 7pm, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9am - 5pm, Saturday 9am - 4.30pm and Sunday 10am - 4pm.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, or on the grounds that any of the requirements of the Act or any instrument made under it have not been complied with in relation to the order, they may within six weeks of the date on which the order was made apply to the High Court for this purpose.
