NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF PUBLIC PATH ORDER

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990 SECTION 257

SOMERSET COUNCIL

BW 5/7 in the Parish of Cannington Public Path Diversion Order, 2025

On 10 October 2025 Somerset Council confirmed the above order.

The effect of the order, as confirmed, is to divert that part of public footpath of public footpath BW 5/7 running from OS grid ref ST 24974 40571 (point A on the plan) and in a westerly direction for approximately 167 metres before turning south and running approximately 158 metres. It then runs east for approximately 177 metres to OS grid ref ST 25020 40384 (point B on the plan) to a line running from OS grid reference OS grid ref ST 24974 40571 (point A on the plan) in an easterly direction for approximately 20 metres to OS grid ref ST 24994 40571 (point X on the plan). It then runs in a south westerly and then west south westerly direction for a total of 25 metres to OS grid ref ST 24975 40557 (point D on the plan). It then runs in a generally southerly direction for approximately 190 metres to join the county road at OS grid ref ST 25012 40393 (point F on the plan). The footpath is 2 metres wide throughout as shown on the order map. . This order comes into force on the date on which Somerset Council certify that the terms of Article 2 of the order have been complied with but if any person aggrieved by the order desires to question its validity or that of any provision contained in it on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act, or on the ground that any requirement of that Act or any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the order, he or she may apply to the High Court for any of these purposes under section 287 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 within 6 weeks from the date on which notice is first published as required by paragraph 7 and 8 of Schedule 14 to that Act.
