Suffolk – Temporary Closures for Maintenance Works
What is happening?
SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U2826 VALLEY ROAD, LEISTON
Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U2826 Valley Road, Leiston at the level crossing for 20 metres eastbound and 20 metres westbound to facilitate a structure examination of the bridge. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Valley Road, Lovers Lane, King Georges Avenue, Sizewell Road, High Street, Valley Road and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 10pm on 21/10/2025 - 5am on 22/10/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U8530 SCHOOL STREET, STOKE BY NAYLAND
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U8530 School Street, Stoke by Nayland from the junction with the B1087 for 50 metres northbound to facilitate a stop tap replacement. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be School Street, the B1068, the B1087 and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate on 30/10/2025 from 8am - 6pm. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U6810 CLEMENTS LANE UNASSOCIATED FOOTWAY, HAVERHILL
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U6810 Clements Lane Unassociated Footway, Haverhill from no. 5 Clayhive Drive for 10 metres northbound to facilitate stop tap replacement works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
The diversion route will be Clements Drive, Clements Lane, Clayhive Drive and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 30/10/2025 - 31/10/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C355 KIRTON ROAD, TRIMLEY ST MARTIN
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C355 Kirton Road, Trimley St Martin from no. 148 for 40 metres southbound to facilitate the removal and replacement of underground service cables. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.
Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.
The diversion route will be Innocence Lane, Croft Lane, the A14 and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will operate from 30/10/2025 - 02/11/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE C429 DRINKSTONE ROAD AND BEYTON ROAD, BEYTON AND DRINKSTONE
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C429 Drinkstone Road, Beyton and the C429 Beyton Road, Drinkstone to facilitate carriageway patching prior to surface dressing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists. The diversion route will be The Street, Gedding Road, C430 from C429 to C695, Road from C429 to C695, Drinkstone, Drinkstone Road, Gedding, Bury Road, Drinkstone, Road between the C695 and C427, Bradfield St George, Manor Road, The Green, The Street, Beyton Road, Hessett, Church Road, Roads Bounding Beyton Green, Tostock Road, Beyton and vice versa. It is intended that the closure will operate from 30/10/2025 - 31/10/2025 from 8am - 5pm with a further closure scheduled for associated works. TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE ROAD FROM A1088 TO THURSTON, NORTON
Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the Road from A1088 to Thurston, Norton from Summertime to the junction with Ixworth Road to facilitate the installation of chambers and clear blockages. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists. The diversion route will be Ixworth Road, Bull Road, Fen Road, Church Hill, Pakenham Road, Norton Road, Great Green and vice versa. It is intended that the closure will operate from 30/10/2025 - 12/11/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
