What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (WHARNCLIFFE ROAD, RETFORD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025 (BS25-316) |b|uNOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN|b|u that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at |bRetford|b in the |bDistrict of Bassetlaw.|b The effects of the Order will be: 1. |bVehicles are prohibited from proceeding|b in the following length of road: a. |bWharncliffe Road, Retford|b - From its junction with Welbeck Road for a distance of 50 meters in a north westerly direction 2. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required. 3. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place. |b|uIT IS INTENDED|b|u that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows: |bFrom 08:00, Monday, 27th October 2025|b |bUntil 23:59 Sunday, 2nd November 2025 inclusive.|b |b|uAND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN|b|u that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be: Wharncliffe Road, West Hill Road, Welbeck Road and vice versa The Order will come into force on |bMonday 27th October 2025|b and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months). The prohibition is required to enable National Grid to carry out works to repair low voltage main.
