AND BUS AND CYCLE GATES) ORDER AND
(PROHIBITION OF WAITING) AMENDMENT ORDER 2025
Norfolk County Council has made the following Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on the 13th October 2025 which comes into force on the 20th October 2025:
The Norfolk County Council (Norwich and Costessey, A1074 Dereham Road and U78264 Old Dereham Road/Three Mile Lane) (Bus, Taxi and Cycle Lane, Bus and Cycle Lane and Bus and Cycle Gates)
Order 2025
The effect of this Order is to:
i. create a bus, taxi and cycle lane to be in operation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, along the length of the A1074 Dereham Road as set out in the Schedule 1 below;
ii. create a bus and cycle lane to be in operation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, along the length of the A1074 Dereham Road as set out in the Schedule 2 below; and
iii. create a bus and cycle gate to be in operation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, along the lengths of road set out in the Schedule 3 below.

U78264/12 Old Dereham Road/Three Mile Lane (Eastbound and Westbound) | From its junction with A1074 Dereham Road to a point 4 metres west of centre line of the U78264/16 Three Mile Lane |
U78489 Dereham Road (Eastbound and Westbound) | From a point 45 metres east of its junction with the U78236 Breckland Road south-eastwards to its junction with the A1074 Dereham Road |
(Prohibition of Waiting) Amendment Order 2025
The effect of this Order is to amend The Norfolk County Council (Costessey, Various Roads) (Prohibition of Waiting) Variation and Consolidation Order 2011 and introduces a prohibition of waiting at any time along the U78489 Dereham Road (South Side) from a point 83 metres east of its junction with the U78236 Breckland Road at the east end of the cul-de-sac for a distance of 14 metres.

Copies are also available for inspection at Norfolk County Council, County Hall, Norwich, NR1 2DH and at the offices of South Norfolk District Council, The Horizon Centre, Peachman Way, Broadland Business Park, Norwich, NR7 0WF during normal office hours. Online viewing is recommended.
Any person who desires to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or of any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks from 13th October 2025 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
