What is happening?
THE CITY COUNCIL OF NORWICH (RESIDENTS CAR PARKS) (CAVALRY RIDE) AMENDMENT ORDER 2025
The Norwich City Council propose to make the above-named Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which will introduce permit parking on Cavalry Ride. Car parking on Cavalry Ride will only be available where a valid parking permit is held (residents or visitors) and displayed in the motor vehicle where it is issued in physical form. Car parking will be permit controlled for twenty-four hours a day Monday to Saturday. Residents of the properties 90 - 98 Mousehold Street and 1 - 15 Cavalry Ride would be eligible to apply for residents parking permits and visitor parking permits for parking at the Cavalry Ride car park area.
This order will amend The City of Norwich (Residents Car Parks) Order 1996 as amended (1996 Order).
The order also clarifies for all parking places covered by the 1996 Order that the display of parking permits in motor vehicles is not required only where the Council have at their absolute discretion issued electronic parking permits only and no physical parking permit capable of being displayed has been issued.
Where a physical parking permit is issued it must be displayed even if an electronic parking permit has also been issued.
