Southend-on-Sea, Amendment to Introduce and Revoke Disabled Parking Bays

What is happening?

SOUTHEND-ON-SEA CITY COUNCIL

THE SOUTHEND BOROUGH COUNCIL (WAITING, LOADING, STOPPING AND PARKING PLACES) (MAP BASED) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2021 THE SOUTHEND-ON-SEA CITY COUNCIL (WAITING, LOADING, STOPPING AND PARKING PLACES) (MAP BASED) (DISABLED BAYS – BATCH 1) AMENDMENT NO. * ORDER 2025

Southend-on-Sea City Council (hereinafter referred to as “the Council”) in exercise of its powers under Sections 1, 2, 4 and 124 under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) (“the 1984 Act”) and the Traffic Management Act 2004 (“the 2004 Act”) and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, hereby give notice that it intends to make the following Amendment Orders:

  • The Southend-on-Sea City Council (Waiting, Loading, Stopping and Parking Places) (Map-Based) (Disabled Bays – Batch 1) Amendment No.* Order 2025

The effect of the Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) would be to introduce and to revoke disabled parking bays as follows:

a) Introduce new disabled bays at the locations listed in Table 1 of this Notice.

b) Revoke the existing disabled bays at the locations listed in Table 2 of this Notice.

Copies of the Notice of Intent (NOI), proposed draft Amendment Orders, the Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Orders and designs showing the proposals can be inspected:

  • At the Civic Centre, Victoria Avenue, Southend-on-Sea, SS2 6ER.

The public consultation period will be live from 20th October 2025 until 10th November 2025.

Any persons desiring to make a comment on the proposals, only within the given dates, can do so:

  • Or stating the grounds thereof in writing addressed to the Traffic Management Team to the address stated above. The following scheme references must be quoted:

PT01156 – West Shoebury Ward,

PT01157 – Westborough Ward,

PT01158 – Blenheim Park Ward

The changes for On-street parking will amend the following Order;

‘The Southend Borough Council (Waiting, Loading, Stopping and Parking Places) (Map Based) (Consolidation) Order 2021’.
