What is happening?

RUTLAND COUNTY COUNCIL DISTRICT COUNCIL

(LYDDINGTON ROAD, UPPINGHAM)  (PROHIBITION OF WAITING AND LOADING) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that Rutland County Council proposes to make the above-named Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is as follows.

Effect of the Order: To introduce “Prohibition of Waiting and Loading” restrictions on the following lengths of Lyddington Road, Uppingham.

(Northeast side)

  1. From its junction with London Road in a southeasterly direction for a distance of 18 metres

  2. From a point 40.5 metres southeast of its junction with London Road in a southeasterly direction for a distance of 5.7 metres

  3. From a point 109 metres southeast of its junction with London Road in a southeasterly direction for a distance of 33 metres

  4. From a point 132 metres southeast of its junction with London Road in a southeasterly direction for a distance of 37 metres

  5. From a point 169 metres southeast of its junction with London Road in a southeasterly direction for a distance of 22 metres.

(Southwest side)

      1. From its junction with London Road in a southeasterly direction for a distance of 191 metres

Any permanent Traffic Regulation Orders made prior to this Order, insofar as they relate to the lengths of road listed above, will be revoked.

Exemptions will be made for vehicles used in connection with any building operation or demolition; removal of any obstruction to traffic; carrying out of statutory powers or duties taking in petrol etc, from any garage situated within the lengths of road; or as part of a funeral or wedding cortege. The usual exemptions for disabled persons’ vehicles displaying a valid disabled person’s badge will also apply.

A copy of the draft Order, the statement of reasons, the schedule and a plan showing the proposal may be inspected at the Council’s offices at Catmose, Catmose Street, Oakham LE15 6HP and at Uppingham Library, Queen Street, Uppingham LE15 9QR, from the date of this Notice, during opening hours. Copies may also be requested by emailing highways@rutland.gov.uk

Objections: Any objections or representations must (a) be in writing, (b) state the grounds, (c) provide the objector’s name and address, and (d) be sent to the Director of Places, Rutland County Council, Catmose, Catmose Street, Oakham LE15 6HP, or emailed to highways@rutland.gov.uk, to arrive not later than 13th November, 2025
