North Norfolk, Multiple Traffic Notices, Speed Limit Changes & Order Consolidations
What is happening?
THE NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL
(TRIMINGHAM, SIDESTRAND, OVERSTRAND, GIMINGHAM AND MUNDESLEY)
PROPOSED 20MPH, 30MPH AND 40MPH SPEED LIMIT ORDERS 2025
The Norfolk County Council propose to make the following Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:
The Norfolk County Council (Trimingham, Various Roads)
(20 mph Speed Limit) Order 2025
If this Order comes into force the effect will be to introduce a 20 mph speed limit along the following lengths of road:
i. U1436C3 Church Road – From its junction with C634 Church Street southwards for 142 metres.
ii. C634 Church Street – From a point 62 metres eastwards of the centreline of its junction with the U1436C4 Hall Road to a point 25 metres north-westwards from the centreline of its junction with the U1494A Broadwood Close.
iii. U1436G Loop Road – From its junction with the C634 Church Street north-eastwards for its entire length.
The Norfolk County Council (Trimingham and Gimingham,
Various Roads) (30 mph Speed Limit) Consolidation and
Variation Order 2025
If the Order comes into force the effect will be to:
consolidate The Norfolk County Council (Trimingham) (30 m.p.h. Speed Limit) Consolidation Order 2019 whereby the 30 mph speed limit on the existing lengths of U1494A Broadwood Close and U1452G Staden Park specified in that Order will not be changed and the C634 Cromer Road/Church Street/ Mundesley Road will be varied as set out below
vary the existing Order by removing the existing reference to the C634 Cromer Road/Church Street/ Mundesley Road and replacing it by prohibiting any motor vehicle from exceeding 30 miles per hour along the following lengths of road:
i. C634 Cromer Road – From a point 62 metres eastwards of the centreline of its junction with the U1436C4 Hall Road north-westwards to a point 480 metres north-eastwards and eastwards of the centreline of its junction with the C291 Southrepps Road.
ii. C295 Gimingham Road – From its junction with the C634 Mundesley Road south-eastwards and southwards for 565 metres.
iii. U1436C4 Hall Road – From its junction with the C634 Cromer Road southwards for 215 metres.
iv. C294 Middle Street – From its junction with the C634 Mundesley Road southwards for 220 metres.
v. C634 Mundesley Road – From a point 20 metres west-northwest of the centreline of its junction with the C294 Middle Street southwards for 214 metres westwards of the centreline of its junction with the C295 Gimingham Road.
If this Order comes into force the effect is to amend The Norfolk County Council (30mph Speed Limit) (U1494A Broadwood Close and U1452G Staden Park, Trimingham) Order 2019 to extend the 30mph Speed Limit onto C634 Cromer Road, C634 Mundesley Road, U1436C4 Hall Road, C294 Middle Street, C295 Gimingham Road and C634 Church Street.
The Norfolk County Council (Sidestrand, Overstrand, Trimingham, Gimingham and Mundesley, Cromer Road and Church Street) (40 mph Speed Limit) Consolidation and Variation Order 2025
If the Order comes into force the effect will be to consolidate and vary The Norfolk County Council (Trimingham and Gimingham, Various Roads) (40 mph Speed Limit) Order 2006 and The Norfolk County Council (Sidestrand, Cromer Road) (40 mph Speed Limit) Order 2002 whereby the existing 40mph Speed Limit will be varied as set out below:
i. C634 Mundesley Road/Cromer Road – From a point 214 metres eastwards of the centreline of its junction with the C295 Gimingham Road south-eastwards to a point 584 metres north-west of the centreline of its junction with the U11360 Fraser Crescent
ii. C634 Cromer Road – From a point 220 metres southeast of its junction with the U14293 High Street south-eastwards to a point 480 metres north-eastwards and eastwards of the centreline of its junction with the C291 Southrepps Road.
The Orders are proposed to be consolidated for clarity and efficient administration of the restrictions. As part of the consolidation the existing 20 mph, 30mph and 40 mph orders are being updated to reflect current legislation, or are being amended to make them clearer, or are being amended to correct minor errors. The reference of ‘vehicles’ is being updated to ‘motor vehicles’ to reflect current legislation.

Any objections and representations relating to the Order must be made in writing and must specify the grounds on which they are made. All correspondence for these purposes should be received at the office of nplaw, Norfolk County Council, County Hall, Martineau Lane, Norwich, NR1 2DH, marked for the attention of the nplaw Traffic Regulation Order Team by 11th November 2025.
