ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14

(PUBLIC FOOTPATHS VD11 – KETTERING & GF19 & GF8 – CRANFORD)

(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that North Northamptonshire Council have made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along those lengths of Public Footpath VD11 in Kettering and Public Footpaths GF19 and GF8 in Cranford as specified below. Private access to land or premises adjacent to the said lengths of footpaths are unaffected.

RIGHTS OF WAYS TO WHICH RESTRICTION APPLIES: The route to be closed starts on VD11 starts at point A on the map at National Grid Reference (NGR) SP 8936 7720. The route travels generally in a Easterly direction for approximately 690 metres to terminate at point B at NGR SP 9003 7727.

The route to be closed on GF19 starts at point E on the map at (NGR) SP 8987 7760 before travelling in a southerly direction for approximately 366 metres to terminate at Point B at (NGR)  SP  9003 7727.

The route to be closed on GF8 starts at point B on the map at (NGR) SP 9003 7727 and travels in a generally east north-easterly direction for approximately 512 metres to Point C at (NGR) SP 9048 7740.

The routes to be closed are shown on the accompanying plan marked by solid black lines between points A-B, E-B and B-C.

REASONS FOR RESTRICTION: The restriction is required in the interest of health and safety during ongoing major infrastructure and landscaping works associated with the development of Hanwood Park. In particular Hanwood Park LLP (the applicant) will be undertaking work in and around the Central Open Space North and the DC1/DC2 Link Road. The footpaths will be affected by these works.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: The Order will come into effect on 28th October 2025 and will continue in force for a period of six months. An application may be made for the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport for this Order to be extended if this proves necessary. However, the restriction specified will have effect only at such times and to such extent as is indicated by the display of notices.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: The alternative route to be used during the duration of the closure starts at point A on the map at (NGR) SP 8936 7720 before travelling in a generally north westerly direction for 580 metres to point F at (NGR) 8971 7754. It then continues in a generally easterly direction for 162 metres to point E at (NGR) SP 8987 7760. The route then continues in a generally easterly direction for 534 metres to point D at (NGR) SP 9040 7765. It then continues in a generally south-easterly direction for approximately 265 metres to terminate at point C at (NGR) SP 9048 7740.

The alternative route is shown on the accompanying plan marked by dashed black lines between points A-F-E-D-C.
