Dalston, Temporary Pedestrian Prohibition Continued For Bridge Repairs
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (FOOTPATH NO. 114005
IN THE PARISH OF DALSTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Order made by Cumberland Council on 16 May 2023, which became operative on 25 May 2023, because of the likelihood of danger to the public due to a damaged bridge and to allow subsequent repair works to be carried out (“the Works”) and which would otherwise expire on 25 November 2025 :has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 25 November 2026. The effect of the Order is to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along the whole length of Public Footpath No.114005 in the Parish of Dalston, from its junction with U2048 near Bellgate, extending in a north easterly direction to its junction with U1135 near Cardew Hall. There is no suitable alternative route available for pedestrians.
