CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (BRIDLEWAY NO.132005
IN THE PARISH OF STANWIX RURAL AND BRIDLEWAY NO. 130003 IN THE PARISH OF SCALEBY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRANS, HORSES AND CYCLISTS) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
that the Order made by Cumberland Council on 2 May 2023, which became operative on 12 May 2023, because of the likelihood of danger to the public due to the dangerous condition of Scaleby Bridge and to enable repair works to be carried out ("the Works") and which would otherwise expire on 12 November 2025 :has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 12 November 2026. The effect of the Order is to prohibit pedestrians, horses and cyclists from proceeding along the following lengths of bridleway:- The entire length of Public Bridleway No. 132005 in the Parish of Stanwix Rural; and
- An approx. 1180 metre section of Public Bridleway No. 130003 in the Parish of Scaleby between Grid References 344996 562463 and 344796 561554, at Scaleby Bridge There is no suitable alternative route available for pedestrians, horses and cyclists. If the works have not been completed within the extension period, the Order may be extended for a further period with the approval of the appropriate Minister.
