Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight Council in not less than seven days from the appearance of this Notice, under Section 14 (1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, proposes to make the following Orders:

The Isle of Wight Council (Watery Lane, Newchurch, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure) Order No 2 2025

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that from one shift between Monday 27 October 2025 and Wednesday 29 October, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Watery Lane, Newchurch, for its entire length. On-street signage will depict the exact length of the closure. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during footway reconstruction works.

The Isle of Wight Council (Briddlesford Road, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure) Order No 7 2025

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one shift between Wednesday 27 October 2025, and Friday 31 October, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Briddlesford Road, Newport, for its entire length. Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 1800 hours on Tuesday 28 October 2025 until 0600 hours on Thursday 30 October 2025, or when the works has been completed, Monkton Street will be closed for its entire length. The Isle of Wight Council (Various Street, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Revocation of One-Way Restriction) Order No 1 2025

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0600 and 1800 hours or 1800 hours and 0600 hours, for 1 to 15 days, between Friday 24 October 2025 and Friday 5 December 2025, or when works has been completed, the one-way restrictions will be revoked along the following lengths of road: a) Western Road, Shanklin, for its entire length; b) Albert Road, Shanklin, for its entire length; c) Bernard Road, Cowes, for its entire length; d) Fairlee Road, Newport, for its entire length. The revocations are required for carriageway maintenance, surfacing, hedging & quartering, lining and cats’ eyes work in the area.

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between Friday 24 October 2025 and Friday 5 December 2025 the following roads will be closed between either 0600 and 1800 hours or 1800 hours and 0600 hours for a period of approximately 1 to 15 days or nights on any day within this period, or when the works have been completed, to enable carriageway maintenance, surfacing, hedging & quartering, lining and cats eye works and any associated pre works, to be undertaken. No vehicle or person may use or cause any animal to use the following roads: and that no vehicle is permitted to wait on the following roads or within 50 metres on any adjoining side road were indicated by traffic signs. These works may include carriageway and footway reconstruction, resurfacing works, reflective stud work and lining works. In some cases, it may be necessary to close these sections of roads on more than one occasion within this timeframe. Exact dates, durations and access information will be communicated to affected businesses and residents via letter and on street advanced warning signs before the scheme commences. On-street signage will depict the exact length of the closures. Adverse weather will have an impact on this programme.
