Bromyard Road, Temporary Prohibition Of Heavy Goods Vehicles
What is happening?
Notice of Intention
NOTICE is hereby given that Herefordshire Council, as highway authority, intend, under its relevant powers, to make the following Order: B4214 Bromyard Road, Ledbury Herefordshire, Temporary Prohibition of Heavy Goods Vehicles Order 2025, to temporarily prohibit the use of HGVs on the:
a) C1157 (Munsley) from the junction with the A438, to the junction with the B4214.
b) C1167, from the junction with the A449 to the C1157 Loxter to Petty France Farm Road.
c) C1172 (Beggars Ash), from the junction with the B4214 to Wellington Heath
d) C1171 (Burtons Lane), from the junction with the B4214 to Hollow Lane
e) U67003 (Rhea Lane) from the junction with the B4214 to the A438
f) C1155 (Hayward Lane) from the junction with the A417 to the junction with the B4214
The diversion routes for HGVs shall be via the A438 onto the A417 onto the A4103 and vice versa.
The said restriction is required due anticipated increases in traffic volumes and associated risks to the public on these routes due to the closure of the B4214 at Ledbury, here are provisions in the Order to allow for emergency vehicles and HGV's requiring access to land and frontages on the affected roads. The said restriction will come into force on 27th October 2025 and remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months (unless extended with the consent of the Secretary of State), however it is anticipated the restriction shall only be in place until 29th October 2025.
