What is happening?

Notice is hereby given that on the 29 October 2025 the Borough Council of Gateshead made an Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along and from Stopping, Waiting or Loading (both sides) on - High West Street Back, Bensham from its junction with Coburg Street to its junction with Denmark Street. The Order is required to facilitate a CCTV and Sewer Survey. The Order will come into force on 06 November 2025. The maximum duration of the Order will be 18 months; however, the works are expected to be completed by 08 November 2025. During the works all vehicles (except vehicles associated with the works and emergency service vehicles on duty) will be prohibited from proceeding along and Stopping, Waiting or Loading along the above road until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs.
