MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
What is happening?
Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s): ORDER NO. MCC145914428: The City of Manchester (Spear Street, Piccadilly Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Spear Street at the junction of Houldsworth Street. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Spear Street, Great Ancoats Street, Oldham Street, Warwick Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate the adjacent development. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 5th November 2025 to 30th April 2027. The order shall come into operation on 5th November 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. 1st November 2025. ORDER NO. MCC000146017849: The City of Manchester (Norfolk Street, Deansgate Ward) (Temporary No waiting and No Loading) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to restrict vehicular traffic on Norfolk Street at the junction of Brown Street. The City Council is satisfied that this restriction is necessary in order to facilitate Openreach connections. It is expected that the works will be in progress on 16th November 2025. The order shall come into operation on 16th November 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If the restriction ends within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
