What is happening?

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER/S - PUBLIC NOTICES OF INTENTION
NOTICE is hereby given that Shropshire Council (“the Council”) intend, not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order/s under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 (as amended), the effect of which is to restrict the use of road/s as stated below. The Order/s for restriction is/are required for the purpose/s as stated below. There are exceptions in the Order/s to permit pedestrian access (and/or vehicular access at the discretion of the Council or Statutory Undertaker) to any land or premises having a frontage to the said highway affected where there is no other form of access, and to any access allowing the necessary works to be undertaken. Access will be maintained for cyclists, pedestrians and dismounted horse riders unless stated below. The alternative route/s for those affected by the proposal/s is/are as stated below.
It is intended that the proposed restriction/s will come into force on the 3rd November 2025 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months (unless extended upon the direction of the Secretary of State) or until any said works which it is proposed to be carried out have been completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is expected the Order will only be operative for the duration as stated in below.

Purpose: Road Closure - National Grid, tree trimming works
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Castle Foregate, Cross Street and no left turn from Howard Street, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 9th November 2025 for 4 nights between 23:00 to 06:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Network Rail, detailed examination of railway bridges
Description of restriction;Traffic will be prohibited from using Church Road, Condover
Date & Duration: 7th November 2025 from 20:00 to 06:00 8th November 2025
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, remedial works to rectify defective reinstatement.
Description of restriction: Pedestrians will be prohibited from using footpath Gains Avenue and Welshpool road, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 3rd November 2025 for 15 days
Purpose: Footpath Closure - Cadent Gas, main replacement works.
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Kilnbank Road, Market Drayton
Date & Duration: 4th November 2025 between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Private tree felling works
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road Longford Turning, Market Drayton
Date & Duration: 3rd November 2025 for 3 days between 08:00 to 18:00
Purpose: Road Closure - New service
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Mardol, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 3rd November 2025 for 2 nights between 19:00 to 06:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, new water connection.
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Narrow Lane, Child's Ercall

Purpose: Road Closure - Long Comm pipe cut off

Purpose: Road Closure - National Grid, trenching works within carriageway for reinforcement scheme.

Purpose: Road Closure - Balfour Beatty will be undertaking safety inspections on redundant bridge.
