Bilston Nursery - 20MPH Speed Limit

PUBLIC NOTICE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 21 October 2025 Wolverhampton City Council made the
following Order under Section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the
Order is as follows: The effect of the Order which come into operation on 31 October 2025 is
as follows:
THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL (BILSTON) (HIGH STREET) 20MPH SPEED
LIMIT) ORDER 2025
No person shall drive any vehicle with a maximum speed exceeding 20 miles per hour on
the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule below:
SCHEDULE
1. Alice Street From its junction with Broad Street (Bilston) up to the
turning head on Alice Street
2. Arthur Street (Bilston) From its junction with Greencroft up to the start of the
footbridge on Arthur Street (Bilston)
3. Batchcroft From its junction with Broad Street (Bilston) up to its
junction with Greencroft
4. Broad Street (Bilston) From its junction with Wellington Road (A41) up to its
junction with both Smith Street and Batchcroft
5. Church Street (Bilston) From its junction with High Street (Bilston) up to a point
1 metre south-east of its junction with Broad Street
(Bilston), Smith Street and Batchcroft and up to its
junction with Walsall Street
6. Dudley Street (Bilston) From its junction with Pinfold Street for the entirety of
Dudley Street (Bilston)
7. Earl Street From its junction with Broad Street (Bilston) for the
entirety of Earl Street
8. Greencroft From its junction with The Crescent (Bilston) for the
entirety of Greencroft
9. High Street (Bilston) 10 metres from its junction with Wolverhampton Street,
Millfields Road and Coseley Road up to its junction with
Church Street (Bilston).
10. Pinfold Street From its junction with Dudley Street (Bilston) and
Stonefield Walk for the entirety of Pinfold Street
11. Rathbone Close From its junction of Shale Street for the entirety of
Rathbone Close
12. Shale Street From its junction with Wolverhampton Street up to its
junction with Broad Street (Bilston)
13. Smith Street From its junction with High Street (Bilston) up to its
junction with Broad Street (Bilston) and Batchcroft
14. Stonefield Walk From its junction with High Street (Bilston) up to its
junction with Dudley Street (Bilston) and Pinfold Street
15. Tadmore Close From its junction with Shale Street for the entirety of
Tadmore Close
16. The Crescent (Bilston) From its junction with Wellington Road (A41) up to its
junction with Broad Street (Bilston)
17. Thompson Street From its junction with High Street (Bilston) for the entirety
of Thompson Street
A copy of the Order, Statement of Reasons and Plans showing the parts of the roads
affected by the Order may be inspected during normal office hours at Main Reception,
Civic Centre, St Peter’s Square, Wolverhampton or viewed online at

Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order, on the grounds that it is not
within the powers of the relevant section of the Act or on the ground that any requirement of
those sections of the Act or of Parts I to III and IV of Schedule 9 to the Act or any regulation
under the said Part III has not been complied with may, within
six weeks of 21 October 2025 make an application for the purpose
to the High Court.
