THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF MIDDLESBROUGH (MIDDLESBROUGH FOOTPATH NO. 29) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025
What is happening?
The Council of the Borough of Middlesbrough gives notice
that it has made an Order under section 14(1) of the Road
Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and any other enabling powers
over an area of the highway described in the Schedule
hereto and as shown by the solid black line on the plan
referenced TTRO-2025-02 attached to the Order because
works are being or are proposed to be executed on or
near the footpath. An alternative route will be available for
use while the Order is in force as shown by the dashed
line on the aforementioned plan. The alternative route
will be signed on site and run from Bonny Grove Way in a
southerly direction following the fencing and then running
between a fence and wooded area to a point behind
No. 1 Comfrey Manor and then across the field running
between two fences to a set of gates providing access
across the constructed road and then follow the fence in a
south-westerly direction until you join the footpath again.
The footpath will be closed from 28 th October 2025 for
six months. The Order may be extended with the approval
of the Secretary of State for Transport. Access will be
maintained for any person being an owner, lessee, tenant
or occupier of those premises adjoining the said length(s)
of footpath. A copy of the Order may be inspected free
of charge at Newport Community Hub, St Pauls Road,
Middlesbrough, TS1 5NQ and on the Council's website

2DT. SCHEDULE - Footpath to be temporarily diverted:
The public footpath commences at its junction with
Middlesbrough No. 28. The path proceeds in a generally
southerly direction for approximately 335 metres along the
boundary fence and hedge, past Comfrey Manor to a point
near Rye Hill Way then in a generally southerly direction for
approximately 168 metres across the field to the farm track
to Newham Hall Farm.
