ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

THE A406 GLA ROAD (NORTH CIRCULAR ROAD, LONDON BOROUGHS OF BRENT, BARNET AND EALING) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

  1. Transport for London in consultation with the London Boroughs of Barnet and Ealing hereby gives notice that it has made the above named Traffic Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purpose specified in paragraph 2. The effect of the Order is summarised in paragraph 3.

  2. The purpose of the Order is to enable camera maintenance works to take place on the A406 North Circular Road.

  3. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from: (1) entering, exiting or proceeding on the A406 on-slip road connecting Staples Corner with the south-westbound carriageway of the A406 North Circular Road; (2) entering, exiting or proceeding on the A406 on-slip road connecting Brent Cross Interchange with the north-eastbound carriageway of the A406 North Circular Road; (3) entering, exiting or proceeding on Cooper Road between its junctions with the roundabout at the junctions of Shirlehall Lane/ Henley Road/ Prince Charles Drive and Cooper Road and the A406 on-slip road connecting Brent Cross Interchange and with the north-eastbound carriageway of the A406 North Circular Road; (4) entering, exiting or proceeding on the A406 off-slip connecting the north-eastbound carriageway of the A406 North Circular Road and Brent Crescent; (5) entering, exiting or proceeding on the A406 on-slip connecting Harrow Road with the north-eastbound carriageway of North Circular Road or Pitfield Way.

Works will be phased such that some restrictions will apply only at certain times.

The Order will be effective at certain times between 18th October 2025 and 18th April 2026, every night 10:00 PM until 5:00 AM or when the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. The prohibitions will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

  1. The prohibitions will not apply in respect of: (1) any vehicle being used for the purposes of those works or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes; (2) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a person authorised by Transport for London.

  2. At such times as the prohibitions are in force alternative routes will be indicated by traffic signs. For Edgware slip closure via Staples Corner western roundabout, Staples Corner Roundabout, A406 eastbound on-slip road, North Circular, A406 off-slip road to Brent Cross Interchange, Brent Cross Interchange, A406 on-slip road connecting Brent Cross Interchange and A406 south-westbound carriageway and North Circular Road to normal route of travel. For Brent Cross slip closure via Brent Cross Interchange, A406 on-slip connection Brent Cross Interchange and North Circular Road north-eastbound carriageway to North Circular Road north-eastbound carriageway, A406 off-slip road connecting North Circular Road and Abbey Road, Abbey Road and North Circular Road to normal route of travel. For Harrow slip closure: westbound via Harrow Road, High Road, Park Lane, Wembley Park Drive, Bridge Road, Forty Lane, Blackbird Hill and Neasden Lane North to normal route of travel. Eastbound via Harrow Road, Bentfield Hill, Craven Park, Church Road, High Road, Wealdstone, Chicheley Road, Cricklewood Broadway, Edgware Road and Staples Corner western roundabout to normal route of travel.
