Wiltshire, Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Closures

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

A) C394 (Part), Calne; from its roundabout junction with A3102 to its junction with Weston Close to enable Dave Lucey Ltd to carry out S278 as part of the new Lidl development there is a requirement to form a new access off the adjacent roundabout and improvements to Oxford Road. Alternative route via C394 (unaffected length) – Stanier Road – A3102 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 10 November 2025 and the closure will be required until 30 January 2026. B) Preshute Lane (Part), Marlborough; from its junction with Treacle Bolly for a distance of approximately 56m in a westerly direction to enable Wales & West Utilities to carry out a disconnection of gas service. Alternative route via Preshute Lane (unaffected length) – Bridge Street – Bath Road and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 10 November 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 23:59 for 4 days. C) Heath Lane (Part), Buttermere; from its junction with Downs Lane for a distance of approximately 167m in a south easterly direction to enable Openreach to replace a pole. Alternative route via Heath Lane (unaffected length) – White Farm Lane – C198 – Woodcote Road and vice versa. D) C85 (Part), Crudwell; from outside its property known as Laynes Farm Bungalow for a distance of approximately 100m in a south easterly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out masonry repair works and other associated works. Alternative route via C85 (unaffected length) – C83 – C76 – A429 – C85 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 10 November 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08.-- and 16.30 for 3 days. E) B4039 (Part), Grittleton and Castle Combe; from its junction with C71 to outside its property known as Manor House Golf Club to enable Openreach to carry out pole testing works and other associated works. Alternative route via B4039 (unaffected length) – C153 – A420 – A46 – B4040 – B4039 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 19 October 2025 and the closure will be required for 1 day. For further information please contact Openreach on 0800 023 2023.

F) C189 (Part), Baydon; from its junction with Ridgeway View for a distance of approximately 95m in a north easterly direction to enable Openreach to carry out install new U-bend from pole to joint box. Alternative route via C189 (unaffected length) – C146 – C29 – C189 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 23 October 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. G) C178 (Part), Grittleton; from its junction with C86 for a distance of approximately 300m in a north easterly direction to enable Thornbury Surfacing Ltd to carry out S278 works – to plane off and resurface the surface course for the full road width of the carriageway. Alternative route via C178 (unaffected length) – C154 – C72 – C86 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 23 October 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 15:00 for 2 days. H) C76 (Part), Tockenham; from its junction with A3102 for a distance of approximately 670m in a northerly direction to enable Gigaclear to carry out blockage clearance works and other associated works. Alternative route via C76 (unaffected length) – Whitehill Lane – A3102 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 20 October 2025 and the closure will be required for 3 days. Orders A) to H) will have a maximum duration of 18 months.

The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
