What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON VARIOUS ROADS IN BISHOPS STORTFORD) ORDER NO.3 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect on the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”) will be:
1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of A120 Bishops Stortford Bypass, Bishops Stortford from its junction with the A120 Hadham Road/A1250 Hadham Road roundabout north eastwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 3520m. An alternative route will be via A1250 (Hadham Road/Link Road/The Causeway/ Hockerill Street/Dunmow Road) and A120 (unnamed road/Bishops Stortford Bypass).
2. The existing 7.5 tonne weight restriction on A1250 Dunmow Road, Bishops Stortford from its junction with A1060 London Road south eastwards, eastwards, north eastwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 600m, will be temporarily suspended to enable all vehicles to use this length of road, whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 31 October 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads. (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE FOOTPATH SITUATED ON THE EAST SIDE OF NO.22 GRAILANDS AND NO.31 WESTFIELD ROAD, BISHOPS STORTFORD AND SAWBRIDGEWORTH PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO.029) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the following lengths of footpath (“the Footpath”) and public footpath (“the Public Footpath”):
1. the footpath situated on the east side of No.22 Grailands and No.31 Westfield Road, Bishops Stortford from its junction with Grailands north eastwards, south eastwards, north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Westfield Road, a distance of approximately 84m. An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the north and east sides of Grailands, the footway situated on the south side of Cricketfield Lane, Bishops Stortford Public Footpath No.004, the footpath situated on the south side of Nos.12-15 Westfield Road and the footway situated on the south side of Westfield Road.
2. Sawbridgeworth Public Footpath No.029 from its junction with Sayes Gardens north eastwards to its junction with Station Road, a distance of approximately 99m.
An alternative route will be via Sawbridgeworth Public Footpath No.029, the footway situated on the north side of The Forebury, the footway situated on the east side of Knight Street and the footway situated on the south side of Station Road.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Footpath and Public Footpath. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 3 November 2025 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Footpath and Public Footpath.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HOESTOCK ROAD, SAWBRIDGEWORTH) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Hoestock Road, Sawbridgeworth from its junction with A1184 London Road westwards to its junction with Sayesbury Road, a distance of approximately 85m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via A1184 London Road, Burnside, Gilders and Hoestock Road.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 20 October 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN B1004 RYE STREET, BISHOPS STORTFORD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B1004 Rye Street, Bishops Stortford from its junction with the B1004 Michaels Road roundabout south westwards and southwards to its junction with B1004 Northgate End, a distance of approximately 1360m (“the Road”), except for access. An alternative route will be via B1004 Michaels Road, B1383 Stansted Road, A1250 (Hockerill Street/ The Causeway/Link Road) and B1004 Northgate End.
ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 20 October 2025 for a period of up to 18 months.

THE HERTFORDSHIRE (VARIOUS ROADS, SAWBRIDGEWORTH) (RESTRICTION OF WAITING) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council in order to improve road safety proposes under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce new waiting restrictions in parts of Sawbridgeworth as specified in the Schedules to this Notice.
Documents giving more detailed particulars of the proposals may be viewed from 15 October 2025 during office hours, at Main Reception, County Hall, Hertford, or on-line at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/trafficorders by selecting East Herts and looking at Ref: EH01025.

SCHEDULE 2: No waiting 11.00am to 12.00pm Monday to Saturday – those sections of road listed below and as set out in the Order and scheme plan – Parts of Hoestock Road.
