Various Roads in Dewsbury - Introduction of Traffic Calming Measures
What is happening?

LINK ROAD AND CAUSEWAY; CAMROYD STREET AND BATTYE STREET, ERNEST STREET, ROCKLEY STREET AND BATTYE STREET, SOUTH STREET, RAILWAY STREET, DEWSBURY
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Kirklees Council propose to introduce the following traffic calming features on Link Road, Dewsbury etc.
Plateaus;
These will be flat in profile with a maximum height of 75mm, vary 6 to 10 metres long top with 1.5 metre ramps at 1:20 gradient and will have 200mm drainage channels on both sides.
Feature 1 – Plateau at the junction of Link Road and Longcauseway with the Longcauseway section starting 50 metres north from the projected southern boundary of 2 Link Road for a distance of 30m including ramps in a northerly direction. While the Link Road section starting 55m north-east of projected western boundary of 2 Link Road for a distance of 35m in an easterly direction.
Feature 2 – Plateau at the junction of Camroyd Street and Battye Street with the Camroyd Street section starting 20 metres south of the projected southern boundary of 4 Camroyd Street for a distance of 15m including ramps in a southerly direction. While the Battye Street section starts 25m east of projected eastern boundary of 9 Battye Street for a distance of 15m in an easterly direction.
Feature 3 – Plateau at the junction of Ernest Street, Rockley Street and Battye Street with the Ernest Street section starting 20 metres south-east from the projected south-eastern boundary of 27/29 Ernest Street for a distance of 15m including ramps in a south-easterly direction. While the Rockley Street section starting 15m north-west of the south-eastern rear boundary no 4 Battye Street for a distance of 15m including ramps in a north-westerly direction. Then the Battye Street section starting 15m south-west of projected north-eastern boundary of 37 Battye Street for a distance of 35m in a south-westerly direction.
Round Top Road Hump:
Feature 4 - Single road hump on Battye Street with the centreline 25 metres south-westwards from the northeastern boundary of 4 Church Hill for a distance of 2.5m in each direction including ramps from centreline.
Feature 5 - Single road hump on Battye Street with the centreline 15 metres south-westwards from the southwestern boundary of 59 Battye Street for a distance of 2.5m in each direction including ramps from centreline.
Feature 6 - Single road hump on Battye Street with the centreline 20 metres north-eastwards from the north-eastern boundary of 59 Battye Street for a distance of 2.5m in each direction including ramps from centreline.
Feature 7 - Single road hump on Battye Street with the centreline 25 metres north-eastwards from the projected north-eastern kerbline of Alfred Street for a distance of 2.5m in each direction including ramps from centreline.
Feature 8 - Single road hump on Battye Street with the centreline 40 metres south-westwards from the junction with Ings Road for a distance of 5m long including ramps in both directions from centreline.
Flat Top Road Hump
These will be flat in profile with a maximum height of 75mm, vary 6 to 19.5 metres long top with 1.5 metre ramps at 1:20 gradient.
Feature 9 - Single road hump on Railway Street with the centreline 13 metres north-westwards from the projected north-eastern kerbline of retail park access for a distance of 5m long including ramps in both directions from centreline. Feature 10 - Single road hump on South Street with the centreline 1.5 metres north-eastwards from the north-eastern boundary of no. 20 South Street for a distance of 9.75m long including ramps in both directions from centreline. Feature 11 - Single road hump on South Street with the centreline 38.5 metres south-westwards from the northeastern boundary of no. 20 South Street for a distance of 4.5m long including ramps in both directions from centreline.
Feature 12 - Single road hump on South Street from 12m south east of the junction with Old Westgate for a distance of 12m long including ramps to the junction of Old Westgate.
