Durham, Multiple Traffic Notices, 40mph Speed Limit

THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF DURHAM

(DELVES LANE, CONSETT) (40 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2025

The Council on 15/10/2025 made an Order under Sections 82, 83 and 87 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 “the Act”), as amended, the effect of which comes into operation on 23/10/2025 which will bring into force the following restrictions, a 40mph speed limit restriction on the following lengths of road at Delves Lane, Consett.

1. C16a Delves Lane from a point 15 metres south east of the junction with Greenways for 295 metres in a generally easterly direction the junctions with C16A Butsfield Lane and the Unc 11.3, Delves Lane

2. C16a Butsfield Lane from the junction with C58a Stockerly Lane for 28 metres in a generally southerly direction

3. C58a Stockerly Lane from the junctions with the C16A Delves Lane and the C16A Butsfield Lane in a generally easterly direction for 160 metres.

4. Unc 11.3 Delves Lane from the junction with the C58a Stockerly Lane in a generally northerly direction for 6 metres.

A copy of the Order and supporting documents can be seen via the Council website, and at Consett Library during normal opening hours. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by “the Act”, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks from 10/10/2025.
