What is happening?

BARNSLEY METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BARNSLEY
(BROADCARR ROAD, HOYLAND, BARNSLEY)
(SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2025

The above-named Order will come into effect on 27th October 2025 it will impose a 50 miles per hour speed limit restriction on Broadcarr Lane, Hoyland from its junction with Sheffield Road, and a 40 miles per hour
speed limit restriction on Broadcarr Lane, Hoyland starting from the end of the newly imposed 50 miles per hour limit.

Documents relating to this matter may be viewed during normal opening hours at the Library @ the Lightbox, 1 The Glass Works, Barnsley and Hoyland Library, High Croft, Hoyland, Barnsley, S74 9AF during normal opening hours.

If you wish to question the validity of the Order or of any of the provisions contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order you may within six weeks from 24th October 2025 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
