What is happening?

ROYAL BOROUGH OF WINDSOR & MAIDENHEAD
(MAIDENHEAD CHRISTMAS LANTERN PARADE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025
SECTION 16A ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead intends, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order, the effect of which will be to: -
Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of roads specified in Schedule below between the times shown therein. The restrictions shall apply to those lengths of roads specified in the Schedule at such times when signs in accordance with the Traffic Sign Regulations and General Directions 2016 are duly in place to indicate the said restriction.

The purpose of the proposed Order is to facilitate the holding of a relevant event, namely the Maidenhead Christmas Lantern Parade. The proposedOrder will come into operation between 16:00 hours and 19:00 hours on Saturday 6th December 2025.

SCHEDULE

Prohibition of Driving – from 16.00 hours until 19.00 hours on Saturday 6th 
December 2025:

Queen Street From its junction with Broadway northwards to its junction with High Street.

High Street For its entire length.St. Mary’s Close For its entire length.St. Ives Road For its entire length.

Bridge Street Westbound between its junctions with Forlease Road and Bridge Avenue.

Prohibition of Driving – at times between 16.30 hours until 18.45 hours on Saturday 6th December 2025:-

King Street From its junction with Broadway to its junction with High 
Street.

Broadway From its junction with King Street to its junction with Park 
Street.

Park Street From its junction with York Road to its junction with 
Broadway.

Nicholson’s Lane At its junction with King Street.

High Town Road At its junction with King Street.

Albert Street At its junction with King Street.

Key’s Place At its junction with Broadway.
