Croydon, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

Official Notice

  1. Whilst the closures are in place the alternative routes for vehicular traffic will be as detailed below.

  • Manor Way: Via Croham Valley Road – Farley Road – Addington Road – Upper Selsdon Road – Croham Manor Road – Manor Way.
  • Ballards Way: Via Croham Valley Road – Farley Road – Addington Road – Coombe Lane – Ballards Way.
  • Croham Valley Road: Via Croham Valley Road – Ballards Way – Crest Road.

  1. The Order will come into operation on 30 October 2025, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed as detailed above. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

  2. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of: (a) A vehicle involved in the said work; (b) A vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies; (c) Anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

CROYDON COUNCILROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984, SECTION 14 AS AMENDED AND THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991 ARUNDEL CLOSE, DUPPAS ROAD AND FOOTPATH 612, CROYDON TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC & PARKING

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate cable installation works by UKPN, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic and parking in Duppas Road, Arundel Close and Footpath 612.

  2. Whilst the said works are taking place: (a) Duppas Road will be closed north-westbound (towards Epsom Road) between its junctions with Duppas Hill Road and Epsom Road from 30 October to 28 November 2025. (b) Footpath 612 will be closed between its junctions with Violet Lane and Hillside Road from 01 December to 05 December 2025. (c) Vehicles emerging from Arundel Close will be banned from turning right into Duppas Road from 30 October to 28 November 2025. (d) Parking will be suspended and waiting and loading restrictions will apply at any time in Duppas Road between its junctions with Duppas Hill Road and Epsom Road from 30 October to 28 November 2025.

  3. Whilst the closures are in place the alternative routes for vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be as detailed below.

  • Duppas Road & Arundel Close: Via Epsom Road / A23 – Stafford Road / A232 – Epsom Road.
  • Footpath 612: Via Hillside Road – Price Road – Violet Lane.

  1. The Order will come into operation on 30 October 2025, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed as detailed above. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

  2. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of: (a) A vehicle involved in the said work. (b) A vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies. (c) Anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

CROYDON COUNCILROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984, SECTION 14 AS AMENDED AND THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991 HAYDN AVENUE, WONTFORD ROAD & WHITEFIELD AVENUE, PURLEY TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate gas main replacement works by SGN, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in Haydn Avenue, Wontford Road and Whitefield Avenue.

  2. Whilst the said works are taking place: (a) The entire length of Haydn Avenue will be closed from 03 to 23 November 2025. (b) The entire length of Wontford Road will be closed from 24 November to 07 December 2025. (c) Whitefield Avenue will be closed at its junction with Wontford Road from 08 to 22 December 2025.

  3. During the closures, the alternative routes for vehicular traffic will be as detailed below.

  • Haydn Avenue: Via Burcott Road, Old Lodge Lane and Lodge Hill or via Lodge Hill, Old Lodge Lane, and Coleshill Hill.
  • Wontford Road: Via Colescroft Hill, Old Lodge Lane, and Whitefield Avenue.
  • Whitefield Avenue: Via Old Lodge Lane and Reedham Park Avenue.

  1. The Order will come into operation on 03 November 2025, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed as detailed above. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

  2. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of: (a) A vehicle involved in the said work. (b) A vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies. (c) Anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

CROYDON COUNCILROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984, SECTION 14 AS AMENDED AND THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991 NORBURY AVENUE, NORBURY TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate telecoms mast maintenance works, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in Norbury Avenue, Norbury.

  2. Whilst the said works are taking place: (a) Norbury Avenue will be closed north-west bound (towards London Road) between its junction with London Road and the junction of Nos. 318 and 320 Norbury Avenue. (b) The Red Route loading/disabled bay adjacent to No. 328 Norbury Avenue will be suspended.

  3. During the closure traffic will be diverted as detailed below.

  • Via Norbury Crescent, Melfort Road, Beulah Road, Norbury Avenue and London Road.

  1. The Order will come into operation on 30 October 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed in one day. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

  2. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of: (a) A vehicle involved in the said work. (b) A vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies. (c) Anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.
