What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (B5296 MOSSBAY ROAD,
WORKINGTON) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the B5296 Mossbay Road, Workington from a point approx. 210 metres north east of its junction with the A597, Solway Road, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 240 metres.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of the B5296 Mossbay Road, U2415 Honister Drive, U2672 Wastwater Avenue,
U2626 Rowe Terrace and U2675 Westfield Drive.

The Order will come into operation on 4 November 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 14 days, between 1900 and 2300, each day and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
