LONDON BOROUGH OF BARNET

THE BARNET (FREE PARKING PLACES, LOADING PLACES, WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS) (AMENDMENT NO.282) ORDER 2025

THE BARNET (CHARGED-FOR PARKING PLACES) (AMENDMENT NO.187) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barnet have made on 16th October 2025 the above-mentioned Orders under Sections 6, 32, 35 and 49 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.

As part of in-process and completed public highway adoptions in the borough and on-going regeneration development works it is considered that certain lengths of public highway should be kept clear of parked vehicles to ensure motorists and pedestrians safety, prevent obstructive parking, and allow adequate traffic flow. The general effect of the Free Parking Places Order will be to introduce new lengths of ‘At any time’ waiting restrictions on street as follows:

(a) Edge Hill Avenue N3 – Northwest side between the common boundary of No.7 and No.9 Edge Hill Avenue and the junction of A406 North Circular Road.

(b) Edge Hill Avenue N3 – Southeast side between the common boundary of No.6 and No.8 Edge Hill Avenue and the junction of A406 North Circular Road.

(c) Beechwood Avenue N3 – Northeast side between the common boundary of No.57 and No.59 Beechwood Avenue and the junction of A406 North Circular Road.

(d) Beechwood Avenue N3 – Southwest side between the southeastern flank wall of No.66 Beechwood Avenue and the junction of A406 North Circular Road.

In order to accommodate the introduction of ‘dropped kerb’ vehicle crossovers to enable access to off-street parking facilities in relation to a new housing development, the general effect of the Orders will be to remove existing parking spaces and replace with yellow line waiting restrictions outside the locations as follows:

LocationParking bay type to be removedNumber of spaces to be removedTo be replaced with

Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on Tuesday 28th October 2025 and the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the Orders can be obtained, for a period of 6 weeks from the date on which this notice is published, by emailing parking.consultations@barnet.gov.uk or by writing to the Design Team, Highways Section, 3rd Floor, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London NW9 4EW.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Orders or any of their provisions on the grounds that they are not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or any regulations made there under have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
